I'm tired of having to replace many of them every spring. The nylon versions don't hold up well to the UV and weather damage. They became brittle and would just break. I'm trying these metal versions and hope for longer success. They installed well. Very low failure rate. I did have a few that were just defective and wouldn't lock up. They are hard to get super tight and you'll need to get the hang of using both hands and pushing on the locking mechanism while pulling the exposed end. You'll need a good pair of snips to cut off the excess since side cutters are not strong enough.
