Medium Marimo Moss Balls, 1-Inch, Live Plants for Aquatic Pets, Low-Maintenance, 4 Balls per Pack

I ordered these LUFFY Moss Balls on 30 July and received them on 01 August, so delivery was very fast.Initially, I was surprised to see they were not delivered in a letterbox-friendly box for protection and were instead in a cheap sandwich bag tied in a knot and put in an outer grey bag for posting, so they had no protection.However, they were in perfect condition. As you can see I received a larger ball and three smaller ones but the large one is around 2" in width and the others around 1.5".I put them in cold water, to clean any debris from them and rinsed them a few times prior to soaking for a few hours before I introduced them to the aquarium. The largest ball kept floating but just needed a light squeezing and it sunk like the other three.At first my fish swam away terrified but are now used to them and so far (even though it's only a day since I introduced them, the fish are not messing around with or moving them around the tank.They look really nice, no brown marks or spots and they are a vibrant green and look healthy.I would highly recommend them but packaging could be better - I was lucky that my balls were not mishandled in the postal system.

They are so lovely and fluffy! I actually received three Gian Marimos and a slightly smaller Gaint Marimo. All of them are actually good sizes. So, I ordered it again now I got eight of them. One of them got a kind of yellow/grey patch. I hope it will recover and become green.【8 months later update (Feb 2017)】They are still keeping strong and healthy. The yellow/green patch are all gone and they look cute with bubbles. They have become slightly bigger. Three of them were adapted by one of my friends, and they are happy at new home.On the other day, I noticed that one of them has got a big crack and I found another tiny Marimo in the crack as if it gave birth! I have uploaded the photo of the Mother and a baby Marimo with two more recent photos of them. I hope the cracked one will go back to a ball again. At the moment, it has opened parts. They are really easy to keep and many of the Marimo in Lake Akan, Japan are several hundreds years old. So hopefully they will live longer!

they arrive basically "flat packed", take them out of the packaging and submerge them in water and forget about them for about a day and they "inflate" and look much more like what you thought you bought.The fish like them, the shrimps like them, they look good in a tank. they help provide food and chemical control of the tank environment (standard tropical fish that is)They don't cost muchWhat's not to like?Well, the one thing that you might need to be aware of is that if you have an environment with very strong currents, these will be blown all over the place, or at least until they find somewhere they can wedge themselves. Nonetheless, I like them and, as I have an 80 L tank, I'm going to get some more :-)

Super quality, I've worked in fishkeeping and sold a lot of these items myself, the items I got were much better than any suppliers in Ireland are providing, really green and vibrant, great shapes, holding their shape too, good size, delivered quickly, rinsed in sat dip for an hour or two but no signs of snails etc at all. No dead or brown spots so fair play to whoever kept turning these balls over!!Update March 2023 - happy to report that they are still going strong! One of them is much larger than a tennis ball despite having lives at the bottom of a 4 ft deep pond full of goldies with minimal lighting.

Lovely items, arrived healthy and great value for money.Only reason I’m giving a low review was based on my experience. Don’t use with turtles!! Easily shredded and a nightmare to clean once destroyed.

I had 2 packs of 4, each contained 6 roughly 1 inch and a half across, and 2 roughly an inch, not perfectly round but very nice looking, great addition to my shrimp tank.Similar in price to local stores, but local stores generally don't have many in stock near me and they are always brown, these came with only slithers of brown which i'm sure will green up in coming weeks and seemingly unlimited stock, definitely recommend, my previous moss ball in my fish tank is about 5 years old and is about 5 inches across, they are slow growing but beautiful.Would definitely recommendGet multiple packs if trying to add a big blast of colour to a tank.

Had these in the tank for a week or so when they arrived they where flat and brown with tiny dots on them almost like grains of sand so washed them thoroughly got most of the wee grains off and the moss started to turn green.In the tank for a few days with no issues and then we started to notice clouding in the water and absolutely horrendous musty smell the only change in our tank recently other than usual maintenance was the addition of these balls and they have tainted the water and caused an absolutely rancid smell in our room we have had to drain the tank fully and deep clean it, luckily our live stock seem to be doing ok and are currently quarantined in our hospital tanks for nowDefinitely stay away from these moss balls

Really cute, healthy, fluffy and look good. Size as expected and very healthy. However, I'm not sure how suitable they are for all fish tanks. I had two well established tank of Guppies that reacted badly to addition of these. Maybe they need soaking / leaving for a few weeks in fresh water before being added? The fish didn't recover. The moss balls are now in a large jar on the window sill on their own and honestly are quite a talking point with light behind them. I would buy them again (lovely plants and a great price) but I would personally not add them to a fish tank again.
