New lease on life
These are an absolute God-send. After recently becoming lactose intolerant, I was absolutely devastated that ice cream and chocolate were suddenly out of the question. I decided on purchasing these tablets in particular, after reading countless reviews singing their praises. Their maiden voyage saw me demolishing an entire Nutella milkshake from Sblended in under four minutes and Er. Mah. Gerd. I've never tasted such gloriousness. After months of abstaining from anything dairy related, this hit the spot and then some. A few hours passed and, low and behold, my tummy was fine. No gurgling, no bloating, no paint-melting farts. The only thing I will note was some slight discomfort at my lower intestines during the evening. But, yeah. I carry these bad boys around with me everywhere I go. Just be warned, if you take them too often, they soon lose their effects.

Oh for the love of Ice Cream!
I'm 36 and its only this year that out of the blue I became intolerent to Lactose. Already being a Vegetarian this posed something of an issue for me! needless to say I've always enjoyed dairy produce, in particular Cheese which is inevitabley included in every vegetarian option when you eat out. I struggled for more than 6 months before trying these Lactase Tablets, I was initially dubious as to their effectiveness but I'm extremely pleased to say that they work wonders! I can now enjoy Ice Cream as a treat without having to source crazy Vegan options. The only high street shop I could find Lactase in was Holland Barrett where they were significantly more expensive than the ones i review here. If you've recently been diagnosed with lactose intolerence then i can highly recommend these tablets as an inexpensive solution which will allow you to enjoy dairy on occasion. 5 stars.

Probably the best lactase enzyme I've tried
I feel like I still get some bloating, like the next day or sth, but other than that, they do the job credibly on the day of eating dairy.

Amazing results.
I have been lactose intolerant for a few months now and find the dairy free diet very difficult to follow if i am not preparing my own food. When eating out, i had to have a very restricted diet as you just don't know what has dairy products in it. A friend recommended these tablets to me and i thought i would give them a try. When they arrived, i decided to give them an extreme test to see how effective they were. I took two tablets and then consumed a litre of milkshake within an hour afterwards. Then nothing! No ill effects at all. I was amazed. Clearly, from other reviews, timing can vary for different people. I simply take two tablets just as i start eating anything dairy based, or a single tablet if eating anything else that i haven't prepared myself, just in case. I have had no ill effects at all since starting the tablets, except for a couple of times i forgot to take the pills. I now carry these tablets wherever i go and won't be without them.

good but need MORE!!
One of the major drawbacks to moving to the UK was not having accessibility to these! Being lactose intolerant you rely on these to live a fairly normal life without having to worry about consequences 4 hours after ingesting dairy products! As these pills are not wide spread across the UK it has been a bit of a trial trying to find some that are cheap enough to continue to eat dairy on a regular basis. These tablets were the best money for value other than Lactaid the main brand that sells in the US. My rule of thumb is take one per every 10 minutes/ or depending on how much or the intensity of what you are eatting. So lets say you are eating a bowl of ice cream, it's a good idea to take 2-3, but if you are eating a salad with a bit of cheese on top just one pill is needed. A glass of milk straight is again a 2-3 pill item, it's something you learn after trial and error. The only thing I fault is that there is no BULK of this item available which would make it more cost effective. I can easily get through 60 tablets in 2 months!! Hope this helps - and for those people that thought they had to give up dairy altogether welcome to the future!!!!

Lactose Intolerant... or i was...
Quite simply I have been lactose intolerant for years. Someone recently told me that the reason for this condition is that your body does not produce lactase when it should (as you are taking in lactose). I bought these (sceptically) to try out. I take 1 (2 if its a lot) with any lactose (cheese, milk, custard, trifle, chocolate etc) that i am eating and I can honestly say that everytime I've done so I've had no problems whatsoever with lactose. With these pills, I can eat whatever i want..without them though... So yes, they DO work. I tried to convince my mother to try them and was told that it was unproven and I was being foolish and she wasn't wasting her money. So she continues to suffer and drink soya milk (yeauch), while I'm fine. Oh well.

Not Great
I bought these after my last lot of lactase tablets ran out. Since I couldn't remember which brand I had bought I decided to give Quest a go. They work...to a degree. I need to take 2-3 times the amount of these to get anywhere near the strength my last set had, and even then my symptoms aren't completely dealt with. If you need to use these regularly, even for small amounts of lactose, I'd advise looking elsewhere.

Excellent product with no hidden nasties
An excellent product that does its job exceedingly well. Other brands, I'm sure, do the job also but what put me off of them was the hidden 'nasties' - gluten, gelatine, artificial preservatives, sweeteners etc. also spotted a few that had 'may contain nuts' on it, which I really don't want to see. Many dairy products don't actually contain lactose, I.e. Most cheeses. Most people who are lactose intolerant can also consume butter without problem, as I am able to do. I'm extremely lactose intolerant but after taking just one of these lactase enzyme tablets was yesterday able to consume a curry that had dairy yoghurt in it, followed by a small portion of dairy ice cream. I' will definitely be buying this product again.
