I have been de-cluttering for about four years, but it actually goes way back. Keeping the flow in and not retaining it has always been a priority for me.As my children outgrew their toys and clothes, I did Boot Fairs. I have always donates items to Charity and Schools, so unlike most homes I have less than 6000 items in the whole house, including Kitchen, Craft, Clothes, Furniture, Garage etc. Comparing me to the average American home (probably the most consumer lead Nation of the lot), I am a minimalist. They have 500,000 items. I enjoyed the Stacey Solomon Sort Your Life out Series and The Nick Knowles one so much, I decided to order this.I loved reading it, but really for me, it didn't spark any sudden revealations on how to de-clutter and organise things. I follow about five you tubers who all advocate a minimal lifestyle so really this book was not a necessary purchase for me and actually it will be clutter unless I now pass it on or loan it to those in need!So for me it would be four stars, offered me nothing I didn't know or practise. However, it was a very easy read and I did enjoy reading it and Dilly's story, so here is the CAVEATFOR SOMEThis book could make a profound difference, but YOU HAVE TO BE READY FOR THAT, parting with stuff for some of us is beyond hard. For those who lead a cluttered, chaotic life-style filled with choice, stuff and endless looking for things they can''t find, only to buy more, and then find said item, this book might well be FIVE STARS and more.I was already on the 30 day challenge advocated in the book, and much credit to Dilly she didn't claim it was her idea and she directed people to the founders of this idea.So I have a sister, whose house looks like a show home, it has a bigger square footage than mine, but open any cupboard and you soon realise what the problem is, every cupboard is full, 4 dinner sets, the one she uses, and the three she has never gotten rid of, a whole kidney shaped pull out cupboard with two kidney shaped shelves, full of bowls, I have three one small, one medium and one large. Some of hers were free, ie bottom of Charlie Bigham Pies, GU dessert glass dishes, she has so many things that when you ask her where something is, she can't find it.So I have The Marie Kondo books and this one and have loaned the Kondo books out out to friends who struggle with clutter, alas it didn't seem to work for my sister, whose home has definitely affected her mental health. She probably has 500, 000 things!!!Perhaps if you do have a very good friend who has expressed an interest in de-cluttering and sorting then this would make a great gift along with a printed made up cheque, I promise to help you de-clutter!A great read, some very useful ideas, but not if you have been on the journey for a few years and your de-cluttering muscles are now bigger than Eddie Hall's (ex World's Strongest Man).A super book for a beginner, de-clutterer!

This is going to change my life!
I ordered this book because every day for as long as I can remember I say the words “I can’t live like this anymore” to my husband. Enough was enough and I was so excited to receive this today and I can’t put it down! Except I did put it down as I felt so motivated, I already tackled 2 of my kitchen drawers which were full of years worth of old tickets, pens, batteries, toys (my children are now teens!) hair bands, tools - you name it and it was in them overflowing into the cupboards below. I binned hundreds of things that I would have kept before “in case”. This book is beautifully presented and broken down into clear sections for just about everything I can think of. I am excited to start the 30 days of change challenge and the 7 day ones too. Every single space and room in my house is full of 10 years of clutter that I don’t need but have been putting off tackling because I didn’t know where to start and this book is making me feel like I can do this for the first time. If you are thinking about buying it then do!

My new mantra
Change Your Space: Reclaim Your Home, Your Time and Your Mind written and narrated by Dilly Carter for me was a terrific way of learning how to approach the clutter we all seem to gather in our homes.I personally purchased the audible version as I wanted to engage fully with Dilly as I do find her voice to be one, I would not ignore plus it was good to hear her guidance while I was taking care of the actual clutter.I loved how she told her own personal story, and I did find I could understand her and how she worked the way she did.Now I have her book on repeat as I do find it helps me like a mantra, making sure I do not ignore her guidance. Now some of her guidance did not suit my own personal life yet I was still able to take bits of it and I could work on her advice around my own personal home needs.A great read as well as a work of guidance which I am happy to recommend.

This kickstarted me to declutter properly not just move things about
Liked the personal storyLoved the quick to do listsI jumped in and out of this for a week or two .Then rolled up my sleeves and did a total declutter of my bedroom. 150 empty hangers later the calm is wonderfulI wasn’t depressed but definitely a bit blue ,this so helped, .gave it to my friend to look at and she bought the Kindle copy afterI don’t usually like this type of book
