This is unusual in that it has 3 cutting edges.Initially I used it as a mini axe, for cutting into the compacted soil. It works well to break up the top 2 inches or so.Next I looked on youtube and found that you can use it back and forth on the longer edges, like a dutch hoe.It's so small, that you can hoe easily between shrubs and in borders. you can add soil improver in borders without damaging plants. Small tools are great for ladies or the elderly, and they're better value for money as you end up using them far more often.

The best hoe there is; working in both push and pull directions, slicing the surface of the soil to cut the weeds. No hard jabbing involved.

Wife loves it! Best tool she’s found to weed around the shrubs and flowers! Apparently a British style of hoe that we don’t make in the United States, so it takes a little longer to arrive than normal Amazon products. Definitely worth the wait.I bought one and added a long handle to it (like a regular hoe). Then we bought a second one to use as a hand tool.
