Fabric Comb

Used reluctantly, but certainly an effective solution to removing pilling from wool.
I bought this as my favourite two jumpers were becoming such a chore to de-bobble, the pilling was terrible. I had watched a number of videos and read various experts advice on caring for woollens. My Grandmother always had one of these in a drawer but I never used them as they are too harsh on delicate expensive knits. Anyway I had resorted to using scissors (which apparently is the best way to remove bobbles for the health of the jumper), it's far too time-consuming though when the whole jumper has basically turned into a giant pompom.I next tried a normal razor, while this works it can catch seams and then cut through them, it also is better than a fabric comb as it cuts the fibres rather than pulling at them which makes them more likely to pill again.Anyway, it was all taking too long and was generally a faff. So I went for the comb, my grandmothers was chucked out years ago, so a purchase was necessary. Needless to say, it works a treat if you want to de-pill a jumper that is causing you grief and may not be allowed out of the wardrobe again if it doesn't behave. It's quite harsh but I would say it's maybe only marginally more harsh than a Bic razor and unlike a razor it won't get fiddly bits stuck in it that need removing every couple of minutes. Use at an angle with the fabric gently pulled tight on a flat surface to allow for an even removal. Not an ideal solution as the jumper is basically getting thinner, so avoid washing too much, wash inside out, wash by hand or wash on low temperature inside out and inside a pillowcase in a washing machine. Pull into shape and never tumble dry... that is all you can do to protect from more pilling... or buy evil synthetics!

Great for bobbly jumpers!
This is excellent. I have 2 cashmere jumpers which were quite expensive but had become so bobbly that I was going to relegate them to being scruffy gardening kit. I just tried this comb on them, it took about 10 minutes to get all the bobbles off and now they are no longer scruffy! Already the comb is more than worth the money. It is easy to use - I just stretched the jumpers over my knee and combed, then took the bobbles off the comb every few strokes - easy! I can't see that it would do any damage any more than picking off bobbles by hand, but much easier and quicker than that.I've only had it a day so can't say how long it will last, but it has already done enough to be worth the price. Definitely recommended!

Where have you been all my life?
I can't say how delighted I am I bought this. I have a pet hate for bobbles on jumpers and wish I'd known about this product years ago. It quickly scoops off the bobbles and excess fluff. You have to keep picking fluff off the comb every few swipes as the comb is small and quickly gets covered. But that's a small bother considering the great effect it achieves. Now I can use several expensive sweaters again which I'd written off as unwearable due to unsightly bobbles. Strongly recommended for everyone who loves knitwear but hates bobbles and fluff buildup. It works on bobbles of all sizes and textures, and leaves the knitwear looking as good as new.

Works on certain textures like intarsia but not others
It works as intended but on some types of fabric it can make the pills fray out and become long wispy threads so that’s the only caveat I have with it.

that it does the job it is supposed to do They certainly do absolutely brilliant
It is brilliant at getting rid of loose wool from knitted goods . I was recommended to buy one years ago by a friend and I have never been without one since.

A must have
Forget the rollers, or shaving your jumpers and coats. This little thing is a simple miracle. Gets rid of all the rolled balls on the clothes. It was recommended to me in one store, and by all means I do owe them. Thank you

Not a great result.
I wasn’t really that pleased with the results on my favourite Cardigan it did help to remove some of the bobbliness but not all,of it I ended up returning the Cardigan to the company
