Dusk to Dawn Light Bulb

Installed 1 each - so far so good. - recommend.

Just install lightbulbs in garage light receptacle and forget about them. No issues. They turn on at dusk and off at dawn just as advertised. I’ve had them several years and gave my neighbor a set as a gift. Now we both enjoy the security of lights outside.

Bulbs last a long time and turn on/off consistently. Good product.

I purchased these dusk-to-dawn lights for the front of my house, replacing lights that were too bright (a neighbor actually complained about them being too bright). There is a noticeable difference in brightness between the previous lights and these, but still enough light to illuminate my driveway and front entryway, and hopefully enough to discourage burglars and vandals. They come on at dusk and stay lit until dawn, which is what they're supposed to do. I just installed them, so can't comment on their longevity.

I've been considering replacing the switch that controls our exterior lights with one of those smart home switches that I could program to come on at dusk and turn off at dawn, but they're like $60 for one switch. I was really excited to stumble across automatic lightbulbs and ordered these. I've had these for a month now and they work just as described coming on automatically when I'd like. No trouble with the metal fixtures they're on. I do have a couple of small complaints: First, they're dimmer than I wish they were. Every other LED bulb I've bought has been much brighter than the "equivalent" incandescent. I replaced the 60W incandescent in my walk-in closet with a "60W" LED and you have to wear sunglasses in the morning. These don't have that problem. Maybe it's because they're outside and there's just so much space to fill? I would say they're maybe 75W equivalent, which doesn't go far outside. My other complaint is that because the bottom of the housing is plastic, they produce most of their light up. So the underside of the roof of my portico is well illuminated, but the stairs are not so much. Since my lights are up some stairs with skyward-facing fixtures, a lot of the light is going the wrong direction. It's good enough that I'm not going to replace them. All told, I'm happy enough with them. When they burn out I'll probably look around a bit harder for something brighter and something with more clear body, but I wouldn't be disappointed to buy them again.

I initially bought two bulbs for the front and the back of the house. The "dusk to dawn" adapters (you screw that into the socket and the regular light bulb into the adapter) I bought years ago died. Found these and decided to not replace the adapters. They are great. I am so happy I don't have to remember to turn the lights off in the morning and remember to turn them on at dark. I work 2nd shift, so it is great that they are on when I get home about 1:15 AM. About two weeks after putting these on the house, the light timer for the garage lights crapped out (it was probably 24 years old). So had that removed and we were thinking of having a "dusk to dawn" fixture installed on the outside of the garage. Decided to try these light bulbs first. They arrived yesterday (while at work!) so got them into the fixtures today and voilà! lights came on at 4:11 PM today. (I have the night off so I was home to see them come on.) So far, so good. I'm anxious to see how long they last and how they hold up to a Midwest winter. Update: April 2023. Came home last night after dark and realized that one of lights on the garage had gone out so just ordered another pair. The bulbs on the garage have been going since December 2018. I haven't had to replace the initial ones in the outside light fixtures on the house, yet. No negative issues surrounding the cold winters in the last four + years. I am amazed.

For years, my front porch lights with dust/dawn light sensors were on 24/7. I had low watt LED bulbs, so it did not bother me too much. I just assumed that no sensors would work under my porch. But I decided to give these Sensor Lights Bulbs a try--and they work!! They are very sensitive to sunlight. They go off in the early morning and come on at dusk. And, even tho the two lights are about 6 feet apart, they do not interfere with each other. This is a great product. Wish I had bought them years ago. Moreover, the 7-watt bulbs are bright and warm. I am updating my review. After 6 months, one of the two bulbs stopped working. I thought OK, I'll get a replacement with the great warrantee: ☀ Worry-free After Sales: 12 Months REPLACEMENT. We will replace the dusk to dawn light bulb if there's any problem. So, I contacted the company, copied and pasted my Amazon invoice, and NO REPLY AFTER 2 WEEKS. One star! ****I am updating still again. After 3 weeks, I did receive a reply, stating that due to the COVID-19 crisis, they have been late with a reply and they will ask Amazon to replace the bulb. So, I'm going back to 5 stars: it is a great product (as long as it lasts) and I assume the company will indeed replace the bulb.

Today is September 10, 2025. I purchased the 2 pack of bulbs 6 years ago, September 3, 2019. Turns on at dusk, turns off at sunrise everyday. No WiFi or timers needed. I have two outdoor lights, one at the front door and one near the garage door where the house numbers are. I keep the switch for the lights on at all times and put a piece of tape over it so it doesn’t get accidentally turned off. The only issue I have with it is during Christmas the holiday lights are too bright and cause it not to detect darkness. But, my porch is well lit from the holiday lights so it doesn’t affect the safety/visibility outdoors.

I bought these for the porch and garage light at my former house last August. They were still going strong when I moved out the following July. Have purchased and installed in my new house on the porch. They work very well. Leave the switch on, and my porch is lit if I come home after dark. Great product!

This light is motion sensor light, not working as dusk to dawn, it will lit up in the night only if it detects motion.

The electrical power of the product is not mentioned in the title. You must read all the details and find that the product operates on two powers, 110 volts and 265 volts. When I used it, it could not handle the power we have in the Gulf, 220 volts, and it exploded.

These are wonderful bulbs. I sometimes would forget to turn my outdoor lights by my entrance on before leaving home. I did have sensor lights at one time but they were not always reliable. I would recommend these lights, they are true to their description. They have on a Dusk and off at Dawn.

Easy to install, just like any other standard lightbulbs.
