Realistic flames, good value for money.
This replaced a more expensive fire that we had previously and it was just as nice to look at . Warms quickly and is simple to use. The flames looked very realistic but it made a squeeky sound when they were turned on. I had to adjust the rotating bar a little and add some lubricating oil to make it silent. All things considered this is a good fire for the price.

Great fire
The media could not be loaded. Love this fire, looks more expensive then it is, good quality. Size fits perfectly. Flame effect is lovely and looks stylish when not on too. I would say is is medium for noise as I have heard both noisier and quieter. Wod highly recommend

We were delighted to find that on the flame effect setting there is no noise whatsoever. On the heat settings there is obvious noise but is easily covered by the radio or tv. I have noticed it doesn't heat the room as fast as our old fire which had the same heat settings, and I don't find much difference between the two when holding your hand under the blower. I only really notice the difference when we turn it down from setting 2 to 1 when the room has heated. Strange. But perhaps it's just me. I also like the look of the fire. It really was a bargain I feel.

The overall design
The fire basket puts a modern touch on the design, an excellent inset electric fire.

Modern update
Needed a modern update to replace obsolete dimplex fire. Only tested and tried but not fitted,But the flame effect is really good. The heat and fan give good heat didn't notice if quiet as I'm deaf as a post.

Cosy Nights with Dimplex
Love it. Makes my room look nice and cosy. I don't personally use the heating element just want the look of a fire glowing in the dark mornings and nights. It's also a decent price. I bought a 2" soft brush which I use each week to keep the fireplace dust free. Works for me.

If you value the sound of silence - do not buy a Dimplex flame effect fire
At first this was a great focal point for the right reasons, then after using of the flame effect for about 6 hours a day 3 months in, the low background noise became a whirring clunking noise that even distracted over our TV.I spoke to Dimplex who told me to return it at my cost and they would decide if they were responsible for the repair costs?Rather than leave myself open to "their decision" I bought a like for like replacement motor online and fitted it - again all was well until now another 4 month in and the same problem. These motor driven flame effect fires rely on cheap synchronous geared motors which all become noisier and nosier with use, the gearing dropping the speed down to 10-15 RPM.Perhaps if they fitted a planetary gear motor or a dc stepping motor this may not have been a problem, but then again they are more expensive and this cheap fire uses very cheap parts. My wife likes the fire but can not stand the noise, changing it for another motor flame effect fire would leave me in the same position.Just be aware that if you are not prepared to listen to a noise similar to an oven rotisserie running constantly in you living room - think about alternatives.
