Amazon has listed this item as "unscented" and "fragrance and colour free". Another reviewer has also stated that it has no scent. This is untrue - it has a distinct floral fragrance. There is a large warning label on the back of the bottle, warning of a fragrance. It also warns of lanolin, if this should effect you. The wording from the warnings label reads: "This medicine contains lanolin which may cause local skin reactions (e.g. contact dermatitis). This medicine contains fragrance with geraniol, linaloo, coumarin, limonene, citronelol, eugend, hydroxycitronellal and hexyl cinnamaldehyde which may cause allergic reactions.” The scent only comes out when mixed with water. Unfortunately, I am sensitive to the smell, so I haven't been able to test the product's effectiveness. I have made Amazon aware of the issue with the item description and I am wanting to warn others by writing this review.

Nice texture and scent but this did not work for me against eczema so for me it was a waste of money.

There is nothing I would say is wrong with the product. My concern is the item was not sealed. There was nothing to show of it had been used or not and this is concerning. I could be buying anything right now. There was no sealed cap under the bottle top... normally if this is how it was sold in the shop, I would be returning it straight away.

Put in bath thought would be great to ease itching skin but it did opposite! Awful

DO NOT PURCHASE IF YOU HAVE DRY ECZEMA SKIN.

I first used this 40 years ago when I came out in psoriasis - my Father was in hospital at the time and they were using it there. I have been largely psoriasis-free for 35-38 years but a few weeks ago came out in a slightly different form of psoriasis, guttate psoriasis, all over my body again. I fid that Oilatum does soften and hydrate the psoriasis and reduces the itching. It can be added to bath water for a good soak, OR you can use it in the shower. The directions say to apply it to wet skin, I sometimes put a small amount on my hand and spread it around, or I pour some onto a sponge and apply it. This does have a cleaning action, although if I were very dirty (eg after a game of rugby) I would wash myself first with soap. It does make the bath or shower-tray slippery, so be careful. I use a daily shower-spray immediately after my bath and it makes it easier to clean the bath if I do not want to clean it immediately. Note, there is also a product from Oilatum called "Shower Gel", but it is purely designed to be an emollient that you apply to your skin AFTER washing in the shower, and then rinse off. It is not desinged to cleanse the skin as you might expect from the name shower-gel.

Good item. For those with sensitive skin and dont like soap with excessive harsh chemicals . Especially when you dont know what they are. A big bottle like this should last a month or two. No need to use soap with it, just bathe and cover yourself all over. Glad i found it.
