Very happy with this light
Very happy with this light, it is lovely and bright and I like the fact that it uses AAA batteries which I am able to recharge rather than the one I had previously which used the flat disc style batteries. Fits nicely on to my Kindle Touch and would also be useful for normal books and reading material and for map reading in the car. There was a problem with non receipt of the original delivery through Royal Mail but when I emailed about this the company replied very quickly advising they would contact Royal Mail to see if they were still holding the parcel and if not send a replacement to me immediately which is exactly what they did. Would recommend this and buy it again.

Great light
Perfect! Bright and really bendy so you can angle it to wherever you need it. I use it for my kindle as well as to check on my children in their dark bedrooms! There also isn't too much glare like on my previous kindle light that I threw in the bin for being useless. The clip is big but I have a case on my kindle so it just so it just sits on the very corner edge of the kindle and the cover and doesn't seem to interfere with viewing the screen at all like some people have commented. Definitely buy it! Oh and my batteries are still going strong well over 10 days so far with loads and loads of use - as well as reading my kindle I also use it while I'm breastfeeding my baby daughter to sleep as it doesn't disturb her but I can read real books or magazines etc or use my phone without straining my eyes. I realise it's really sad to gush about an inanimate object but I really love this light!

More negatives than positives sadly
Positives: the light is good and bright and the strong wire makes it easy to angle it.Negatives: the clip is far too big and heavy, it doesn't sit on the Kindle device neatly or easily and it will cover part of the screen no matter where you place it. The thing I love about the Kindle device is how lightweight it is but clipping this on makes it top heavy and unwieldy. Also, the battery cover broke immediately so I've taped it on. It will do in a pinch but overall it's pretty useless.

Spread of light source rather uneven, making reading less than easy on the eye in a dark room.
One of the big problems with the old Kindle was a lack of any back lighting, and this thing kind of solved that. I say kind of as, although a bit on the large and bulky side to be honest, the spread of light was largely focussed on one part of the page. A device that spreads the light source evenly across the page would be much easier to read comfortably with after any great length of time. Not cheap either, for what is essentially a cheap LED light on a bulldog clip.

A very useful & effecitve little light
I bought 2 of these previously and have just purchased the last 2 in stock. I do use it for reading my kindle but, clip it to the headboard of our bed rather than the kindle itself as I find it works better that way. I use it at home and but, also tend to take it with me if I am away. it is also useful if I get up in the night as I can leave it on without disturbing my husband. It is a very useful and effective little light. It also works for a very long time on one set of batteries.

Poor design - don't bother!
Sadly, the clip on this light cannot be perched on the top of the Kindle as shown in the picture as it just slips off due to the weight of the light at the opposite end. The clip has to be pushed further on to the Kindle itself and due to its size, it blocks part of the screen, whether the clip is positioned at the top or round the side of the Kindle. I have the Kindle keyboard wifi version, which is the Kindle shown in the product picture. The product might work better with other versions of Kindle.I don't expect to have to have to move the clip for each 'page' that I read. I've given up using this product now and will look for an alternative.

Disappointed
The amount of light it produces is fine and I like the flexibility of the arm however with the batteries installed the clip is too heavy for the kindle 1. It doesn't clip properly to the top of the device like the picture indicates; it either encroaches on the screen or doesn't have enough to grip on so the weight of it makes it fall off.I also had a problem with the battery cover. The plastic lugs are too small and weak so when you remove the cover to install the batteries they snap off easily and the cover no longer stays in place. Mine is now held together by an elastic band!!All in all I wish I hadn't bothered but then again for the price.....??

Great light.. but
When I received this, I was surprised at the size of the clip, it's rather large (looks smaller in the photo). However I thought I would try it out and see how I got on. In the end, I had to remove it as it kept slipping off my Kindle and when I tried to move it, it would cover up part of the text on the screen.. not very good when the whole idea is for you to be able to read in the dark...
