Buy Carbs & Cals Carb & Calorie Counter: Count Your Carbs & Calories with Over 1,700 Food & Drink Photos! 6th Revised edition by Chris Cheyette, Yello Balolia (ISBN: 9781908261151) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Really useful to help control carbs amongst other things. - This is the best book I can find as a T2D to help control my carbs. The pictures of portion sizes are good, especially if you are eating away from home, they can help guesstimate. The carbs per 100g is good for calculating whatever the portion size you use. Having protein, fats and fibre figures also helpful in deciding if a food is better for you. Overall, it helps give you a rounded idea on healthy choices and gives you the opportunity to fit in a treat every now and then. This has now become my go to, daily used bible and has helped me bring my BG right down in just a few weeks. Plus, I'm also loosing weight at a sustainable rate, about 2ibs a week. So, whatever you want to do, whether it's control your carbs, eat healthily or loose a little weight I would recommend this as a very useful tool. Review: Diabetes Dining Done Right - This book has been an invaluable resource for managing my Type 2 diabetes and navigating my diet. It's brimming with useful information on carbs, which has made meal planning so much easier. I appreciate the clear layout and the detailed breakdowns of nutrient values across different portions. This has been particularly helpful when trying to keep things varied, like whipping up different pasta dishes. However, there are a few minor drawbacks. While the images of foods in various weights are informative, they can be a tad overwhelming. A standard 100g reference alongside the different options would’ve simplified the calculations. Moreover, the absence of more comprehensive data on sugar and fats feels like a missed opportunity. All in all, this book truly shines as a reference guide for anyone needing to watch their carb intake. From casual family meals to dining out at national chains, it helps keep you on track. Highly recommended!

Love it, Although improvements can be made...
Pros - Clear and easy to use picture format with very easy to read nutritional information. Excellent idea to provide small, medium and large portion size nutritional information, often by the gram which means you can create combinations for meals and know the exact amount instead of estimations by weighing food items. The introduction pages have clear, helpful information about nutrition, how to keep track of your daily intake and food swap suggestions. Cons - It would be nice if the book contained more fresh ingredients and less 'junk food' or takeaway meals. The overall ease of use would improve if the book was ring bound. The entire sandwich section should be removed. Pre-made sandwiches and their nutritional values vary so much dependant on which shop you go to so this could be a little misleading.

Comprehensive Reference with Caveats
The "Carb and Calorie Counter" book serves as a useful reference for individuals looking to manage their dietary intake more effectively. With its extensive food database and nutritional information, it offers valuable assistance in making informed choices about what to eat. One of the book's initial draws is the promise of a free 14-day trial of the accompanying app. However, it's disappointing to discover that this trial isn't as advertised, as accessing certain features within the app requires a subscription. This lack of transparency regarding the true nature of the trial can be frustrating for users expecting a genuine opportunity to explore the app's capabilities without additional costs. Furthermore, while the book provides valuable information, it faces stiff competition from numerous free or more reasonably priced apps offering similar functionality. Given the relatively high price point of the book, it's reasonable to expect more generous terms for accessing the linked app. Offering a complimentary subscription for at least six months would provide users with a more substantial incentive to invest in the book. Despite these drawbacks, the "Carb and Calorie Counter" book remains a useful tool for individuals seeking guidance on managing their nutritional intake. Its comprehensive food reference and nutritional data make it a valuable resource for those looking to make healthier choices. However, potential buyers should be aware of the limitations of the accompanying app trial and consider whether the book's benefits outweigh the associated costs.

The book has plenty of pictures of different food category and is very useful for those who don't have the ability to weight the food. For a kid with Type 1 diabetes is useful to learn how to appreciate the amount and type of food that has to be weighted. Totally recommended it not only for Diabetics but for everyone who wants to approach a healthy relationship with the food !

The book is full of low quality food. Food for people who only eat takeaway apparently. If you are being careful about what you eat, you won't be eating pork pies, pasties and fish & chips! There's little in there that I would ever want to eat so a waste of money really. The comparative tables are good though.
