Easy Origami: Over 30 simple projects! (Dover Origami Papercraft)

This book is fantastic. So simple and easy to follow and a good range of things to make. Perfect level of challenge as well that makes it enjoyable. Definitely a good book for beginners. I bought 4 different books that I found on amazon for beginners and this one is by far the best. I don't use the others- only this one. Every step is explained well and broken down step by step with instructions and diagrams. Would really recommend!

Bought it for my 7 years old. The instructions are clear. Variety of models is big and exciting. It is a great book to start with. Got my own child to get involved, and even try some of the models on his own. The big plus is that some of the models are so easy, they can be done without any adult help. The only minus is that it does not come with papers, so had to be purchased separately. Recommend it as a present or just for a fun indoors activity with the children.

I was talking to my grandson about making origami flapping birds years ago. I'd mislaid the instruction sheet I'd copied from a book in the '70s, so this sounded like a good alternative. Nope. The flapping bird doesn't flap for me. It looks nice....but no movement. So I hunted through my old stuff, found the old instruction sheet and....yep, mine is easier to make and it flaps. So.... I haven't tried anything else in this book. The other things may be great, but.....a bit of a disappointment.

This was a great little book, with ideas and steps to making origami. My daughter did some at school and wanted to make some more at home. She had been using the internet to try and follow online instructions. This is alot more easier to use and also she can sit outside with it. Hoping to keep the kids entertained in the summer holidays. Brilliant buy would recommend.

I found the beginning instructions good but the more difficult endings hard to accomplish without using YouTube. So I wouldn’t recommend this book as it is putting my children off from paper folding. I’m struggling to find a better book.

A large paperback book; consisting of 47 pages full of mixed designs: ranging from animals: dog/horse/cat/penguin/swan/frog/cicada/butterfly/fox/pig/carp/pigeon/pelican; decorative: house/lantern/boxes/waterbomb/pin wheel/piano/boat/flower/cup/hat/-etc. Truly a 'great' book for teaching people who are complete beginners brand new to discovering, and, learning more about the art of Origami; includes symbol explanations of how to read/follow along the diagrams. The folds start out being really easy; then, become slightly more difficult as one goes along. however, with sufficient time, effort, patience; then, most beginner's will be able to successfully complete most -if not all- of these fairly basic designs. The strength of this book is the low price and large range of projects. At the lower price you do lose out on other helpful features, like explanatory text and photographs, so younger children may well need help to follow the line drawing instructions, but the actual projects are realtively easy, and good quality. A real bargain!

If (like me) you've struggled for years to make anything with Origami, this is a good book to get you used to some of the easiest folds and methods in Origami, that will spur you on to trying more complex projects. All of the models in this book are very easy to produce (even for a banana-fingered dad trying to show his child how to make things). Great introduction to origami for young and old .

Para un niño de 9 años lo ha mantenido muy entretenido. Las instrucciones son simples, en inglés. Está ilustrado paso a paso en blanco y negro. Tiene 32 proyectos. Parecen sencillos pero si no tienes mucha práctica pudieran ser algo complicados. Te ayuda a desarrollar concentración y paciencia.

Very good book but a little bit to small, thought it was going to be a lot bigger and more pages. But it’s still good and easy to follow the instructions to the different figures

It seems little complex. My kids get bored and stopped using. I was thinking the effect would be opposite.

This is an excellent book for kids 8+ or adults to learn the basics of origami. Unlike other books we've tried, the diagrams are very easy to follow and include text when necessary to clarify what you are supposed to do. We haven't gotten frustrated or lost at all, and have been able to create a lot of great looking finished pieces. The book begins with very simple pieces that require no more than a few folds (cat and dog heads), and then progresses through somewhat complex (but still easy) pieces like boxes and a jumping frog. Do be sure to get yourself some quality origami paper to use along with this book. Paper that has one coloured and one uncoloured side will work best, as a few of the designs make use of this.

We have about 80 kids and about half of them are learning to do origami right now. These have been so helpful to them! They love the colors and how easy it is to fold. The paper seems to last a long time, and all the books are perfect for helping them to learn. I think that this was a great find, and a great price!
