I’m a fan of Merrell Hiking Boots. This is my second pair. My first pair is falling apart. I have not tested them on a hike or to see how waterproof they are yet. I’ll update after I do. As for the fit, I wear a 7.5 and that’s the size I purchased. I have a fairly slim foot and they fit perfectly with regular socks. I did not go up a half size because I didn’t want to have to wear thick socks with these boots. I can tell these boots are a little heavier than my last one’s (which weren’t waterproof) probably due to the waterproof lining. It’s not a dealbreaker, it’s still a relatively light hiking boot. Look forward to trying them out. Will update soon.

I have worn Oboz mid-boot Sawtooth 2 for several years. I decided to try these because I simply wanted a change and I loved the color. I couldn't have been happier with the comfort and fit of these shoes. I have had bunion surgery on both feet so good fit is priority. The toe box is a bit wider than a medium so it provides more comfort for me. The rise is perfect for hiking or every day wear. I seriously recommend!

Sole completely detached from shoe within one week of wear. I would return them but they have already been worn
