I’ve been using alpecin shampoo for at least 8 years now. Honestly, I can’t tell you how good it is compared to other shampoos, because I haven't used anything else in all that time! When I first started using it, it was due to hair fall, and it actually stopped my hair from falling out.Fast forward to today, and I still have a full head of hair. When people ask me the secret behind my beautiful, manly locks, I don’t tell them because it’s a secret! 😉

As of writing this review I've been using the shampoo and the liquid everyday for six weeks or so. I have a receding hairline which I was always able to cover well because my hair is otherwise fairly thick. However, I was experiencing a shed during the summer and having to wear a helmet for work wasn't helping. I decided to shave my head since going into the shower and seeing all those hairs was fairly soul destroying.A few days after shaving it I noticed a few blond (vellus) hairs on my hairline. After a few days of applying the shampoo and liquid many of these hairs had darkened, a few friends and relatives have even commented on it. It doesn't look full by any means but I've definitely noticing more hairs on my hairline every few days. There's more hair there than there has been in about two years I'd say.So yeah. I'm over the moon that these product is helping me regrow hair when it explicitly details that it doesn't do that. I should probably temper all these by saying that I'm only 19 (20 in a few weeks) and that's obviously significant, though I don't pretend to know much of the technical or scientific stuff that goes into this.As for the reduced hairloss, I'm still losing hair in the shower though I have noticed a significant decrease. That said, it's only been six weeks and it apparently can take up to 4 months to take full effect.I'm by no means suggesting this will happen to everyone, a quick scan would show I'm in the minority. But if you're relatively young and receding I absolutely recommend it. Furthermore if anyone has any vellus hair on their head I suggest both the shampoo and the liquid, it made many of mine go terminal and this seems to have happened to a few others too.

So I was reading all these reviews and thinking waste of money not bothering with it, just accept the baldness! Then Amazon gave me a gift voucher for a mistake they made and I bought a few bottles.Its definitely worked for me. After only a weeks usage I can see new small hairs growing and growing in places also where I havent had hair for ages.I'm going to keep using it.My advice to anyone is think about how much it will cost to find out if it works for you. Its not alot and if it does work for you then it will change how you feel about yourself, and for the sake of ten quid, its definitely worth a punt.Lastly I leave it on for longer than two minutes. Basically I wash my head with shower gel first. Then apply the Alpecin and rub it in / massage the head until its a lather. Then after about two minutes I rub it into the scalp a bit more and leave it for another two minutes. I basically do this until its been on for about 5 minutes and then lightly rinse the excess soap off my head and dry. BY not being too thorough with the rinsing you leave some on the scalp to carry on working.Anyway thats how I did it. I dont work for them, see my other reviews etc.Cheers

Love this shampoo

I have been using this stuff for a while now (at least a year) and looking back on photos of my hair from a couple of years ago it really was thinning on top. I'm no spring chicken and thinning hair is one of the joys of getting older. However, I have noticed recently that my hair does now appear to be a lot thicker. It hasn't solved the bald patch but I wasn't expecting it to.

I spent a few years very stressed from my job and noticed that the hair around my corners and temples had started to recede slightly. Having got my stress under control I have noticed some small hair regrowth in the areas. I dont know if it is a coincidence but since i started using this shampoo i have noticed even more regrowth. I cant really comment on this products effectiveness in male pattern baldness but i do know that MPB runs on one side of my family so i will be using this product probably for the rest of my life just in case!The reason i gave it 5 stars is that, regardless of its affects on hairloss (which despite some skepticism around this product i believe that it probably does make a difference to most people), it is actually the best shampoo i've ever used! my hair feels really soft and thick, i have quite fine hair and it seems to have given it a lot more volume. It smells quite nice as well and just generally feels great!Overall this is a great product and certainly worth a punt as it is fairly cheap, i have recommended it to my dad who has started to thin on top and will be interested to see if he notices any difference

I have been using this regularly but haven't noticed any major difference apart from my hairs getting more grey these days! I have been keeping it on my head for longer than 3 minutes sometimes to get maximum benefits but yet to see outcome.

First off if you are expecting to use this shampoo and in 6 months have a new mane to show then you need to re-think your approach! This shampoo will not regrow your hair, however what it will do is make your scalp more hospitable to your current hair and in my view reduce hair loss.My hair is very fine and my scalp always been a bit flaky at certain time of the year, after using this for 6 months the difference in my scalp was night and day, no more flakiness and my hair definitely felt thinker and easier to style.3 years on and i would say that thickness has increased slightly but the scalp is the big difference, that gives your hair the best possible conditions to grow and I am sure it stopped my hair getting any finer and I could not be happier with the results.
