I have been cutting my own hair for several years and before that my wife used to cut it. I have always used a professional hair clippers and have had both cordless and corded. The clippers that this Remington Quickcut was bought to replace are corded and cost a lot more money. There is nothing wrong with them, but I have found it very difficult to cut my own hair with them and I decided to try and find something a little easier. After a fair bit of research I decided to give these a try. I have just used them for the first time and they are way better than the traditional clippers that they are replacing. Please watch the video for an in-depth look at them and to see how I got on with them whilst cutting my own hair. They are so much easier to use than my other ones. This is partly due to the fact that the blades are curved and fit the contours of my head better. Also they fit into the hand in a way that makes keeping the blade flat against the scalp much easier than the long handle on traditional clippers. This is further enhanced by the absence of a chord. They are much easier to use if you cut your own hair. This also applies if you usually get someone to do it for you too. I found them much quicker too as they were easier to keep flat on my scalp. Inside the box: The clippers, a soft carrying case, Instructions, charger, cleaning brush, oil for the blade and nine different sized combs (see the product description for their sizes). In the video I use the clippers without a comb and they cut my hair very short (1mm according to the instructions). The clippers have a battery that should last around 40 minutes. I reckon it took me around 5 minutes to cut my hair and beard so plenty of cuts on one charge. It recharges from flat in 4 hours. A brilliant feature is the ability to use them from the mains socket, with the power adapter plugged in, if the battery is flat. The mains adapter has a cable of around 6 feet length so it would be possible to cut your hair easily this way. It does state that constantly using the clippers via the mains will shorten the life of the battery. Personally, I love the fact that the clippers are cordless and would only use this feature if I ran out of charge. The unit also has a quick charge feature that may allow you to finish a cut if the battery runs out. 10 minutes charge time will give an “emergency burst of runtime”. The clippers are easy to clean. They are water resistant and are designed to be switched on and rinsed under a tap. The blades can easily be removed to give the clippers a more thorough clean with the brush provided. They did not need this after I cut my hair, but I showed it in the video. Three drops of oil on the running blade and then the clippers can be put away ready for the next cut. There is another clipper called the Shortcut that is quite a bit more expensive than the Quickcut. If you are wondering what the difference is; the Shortcut is completely waterproof and can be used whilst showering to keep the mess down. I like to cut my hair in the shower, but when it is dry, before I actually turn it on. Also, I like to check that I have not missed anything in the mirror before I shower, so for me the Quickcut is fine. I love using these clippers. They are much easier and quicker than my old ones. There is no chord to deal with so you can cut your hair anywhere. They are quiet, fit nicely in the hand and are ergonomic to use. At no time did they feel like they were unsafe or had the potential to cut me around the ears or nose. I was very comfortable using them. I cannot vouch for how long they will last, but after reading other reviews and owning other Remington equipment, I think that they will be a good purchase. I loved using them and I reckon you will too if you are fed up of struggling to cut your hair with conventional corded hair clippers.

Bought it for bf as an xmas gift, he uses it weekly. Battery life is good, easy to use, clean, and charge. Good quality and value for money.

I have bought a few hair clippers recently after my old ones had started to pack in. Having spent a considerably amount of money assuming if I spend more I will get better quality and ending up sending them back as they were awful I finally went with this. Well first of all its very easy to hold, I will say that is for someone with a large hand. If you are quite small it may be tough and tiring to hold and control. The other thing is its nice and sharp, no need to take the No1 clip off its just fine to give a close cut. Yes, this does shape around the head well but the only thing I would say knocks a star off is it really needs to come with extension clips that can do behind the ears like a lot of brands do. The USB charges really quick and it has a good charge that lasts for a considerable amount of time. No loud noise or rattles from it as well so it seems to be well built. In fact for the money, I think this is excellent value.

My last clippers became useless after the oh-so-clever single adjustable comb broke after a year… two tiny little plastic tabs were meant to keep the whole spring-loaded contraption in place, so as soon as they fatigued -- and it's difficult to see how they _wouldn't_ -- the whole thing was a write-off. So, this time I went in search of a unit that had straightforward removable combs. That way, if one broke, I could just use a slightly shorter or longer one. I needed one that was cheap, waterproof-ish, and cordless. Until I bought the nice Philips rotary (face) shaver that's incredibly lasted ten years without battery drain or any other wear or damage, my previous best shaver was one of those old style stubby Remingtons, that similarly lasted more than a decade. So, now I've called a surrender against the rapidly retreating hairline and optimistically decided to stop visiting the barber for a short back-and-sides, my first port of call was Philips... who made that one that broke -- a QC5570, with that twistable head, if that's of interest. So, my second port of call was Remington. This one does exactly what it promises. It's small and neat, fitting comfortably in the hand like a pebble, and the large comb really does make the process of stripping your head quicker and less fiddly. The curve manages to be just right, and while it has no frills, the corners of the comb do work for getting the little bits above the ear, for example. I'm not sure how well this would work for someone shaving their head more delicately and using this as part of a more coiffured tonsorial regime, but as someone who just wants to cut anything longer than 1mm, it really does just do the job. It comes with a selection of clip-on combs, each of which is a simple affair that's more sturdy than the pathetic thing that came with the twisty-turny razor. It's easy to clean and maintain, and it's easy to charge. As with other Remingtons, it was a little overpackaged, but that's a minor point. One last incidental note... if you do shave your head, and even for wet or electric shaving your face, do consider buying an Alum block. As a sufferer of rather bad razor burn, an Alum block like the "Osma Bloc" (search for it) has proven a revelation I wish someone had told me about decades ago. It tightens up the pores apparently, but I can testify that it leaves both my scalp and my chin bump and rash free.

I bought this two months before I actually used it. I bought it to replace my mains powered clipper. My Wife who cuts my hair found the mains unit was vibrating her hand painfully. Using this Remington was a dream to use. Gentle both on her hand and my head. Smooth and easy trimming. Using this was the first time she didn't have to trim bits of hair with scissors. Overall I am both very pleased with this product. It does what it says it will and is head friendly. I recommend this product for its ability and gentleness. As an aside you can also use the clipper whilst plugged in and charging.

Quite like these trimmers after a few cuts now. They do not make a lot of noise and are nice and sharp. The curved profile of the blades make for a neat cut. The shape of the trimmer fits nicely in the palm of my hand. Not too pricey either. They are not great as beard trimmers though as dedicated beard and moustache trimmers are better at getting under your nose and around top lip.

My 2nd set of these after my last one gave me 5 years of solid life. The only self hair trimmer you will ever need. Also don’t be fooled by the shape.. works just as well for the beard too :)

After succumbing to the genes I was blessed to be born with, and having finally accepted my fate to my receding hairline and thinning top, I reluctantly decided to ask my barber to shave off what little I had left. After 18 months or so of going every two weeks to the barbers, seeing other gentlemen sit in their chairs for what seemed like forever whilst the barber would attend to every freshly cut hair, preening it until it was perfectly placed, I would rock up to the chair and within 5 minutes, would be parted of both my money and the few hairs which adorned my head. My solution? Seek out a set of trimmers so that I may save myself from the time consuming trip to the barbers along with the fortnightly payment. I first tried a beard type trimmer that has a longer handle and whilst this worked, I found it a bit fiddly as I was constantly moving the trimmer in my hand as it went round my head, trying to find a comfortable grip. New solution needed. Roll up these trimmers. They are ergonomically designed so that they are very easy to hold and control, fit comfortably in the hand and glide around your head with ease. Thanks to the large blade, I can shave my head in no time at all. You get varying guards in the box which is great should you have enough hair to change your style every so often, however for me, no guard and as close as you can get without being scalped works just fine. I have started shaving my head every week now as I have no need to take a trip to the barbers and the time/money spent there. Battery life is great and you get a handy storage pouch for packing away when not is use. Overall, this has paid for itself many times over with the money saved from not going to the barber and the great thing is, I can have a freshly shaved head whenever I want!
