20 Lakeland Soup n Sauce Press Seal Freezer Bags 500ml – Heavy Duty Gusseted With Write On Panels

I've been using these bags for years and they are my go to storage for soups, chillis, Bolognese sauces, curries, any liquid dishes that I want to freeze. I've used them over and over again, and still have a few from my first original purchase from at least 8 years ago! The minuses, which I'm happy to live with, are they are a little awkward to fill especially if you're working with hot liquids like soup. I open them up and stand inside a jug, then put my jam funnel into the top to fill them. They can also stain if you use for tomato or curry based dishes, though this can be mitigated slightly if you wash by hand with a little dish soap and some kitchen roll, before putting in the dishwasher. I usually keep these stained ones for more tomato or curry storage. They wash fine in the dishwasher provided you spread them open over the dishwasher grids. They air dry best supported over a glass, though you can dry with kitchen paper. Bonuses are - reuseable for ages, I've only ever had 2 split, at the base, not at the ziplock. I mark my contents with a Sharpie pen, which cleans off easily with a little alcohol or hand sanitiser. I use the 500ml ones for 2 servings of soup or sauce. They are very tough, but I wouldn't use for actually microwaving in, or for boil in the bag. I defrost by just warming the contents under the hot tap enough to slide into a jug then defrost/heat in the microwave in the jug. Excellent product, which I've repurchased several times, not because I've needed to replace so much as I keep finding more uses for them. They reduce the amount of space used in the freezer and if you freeze the m flat, once frozen you can 'file' them upright.

Great bags perfect for storing soup, chilli and other foods. The bags seal easily and freeze well. I docked one star purely because whilst they are reusable I feel they are going to look old and worn after only a few uses, but I would buy again.

Great little bags. Very strong and sturdy, and they stand up on their own for ease of filling. Can’t criticise them in any way but I advise customers to actually check the size before ordering. It was my fault for thinking 500ml would do (which it did, but only just). 500ml was a lot smaller than I thought.

Perfect for gravy, individual portions of soups, stews and left over sauces, like too much lemon butter sauce for your fish or chicken, saves waste and having to make more when needed. Don't always have enough gravy so when I use my slow cooker I make sure there's plenty of meat juices for when we need it. Beef, I add a couple of stock cubes and red wine. Lamb, I add a couple of stock cubes, red wine and rosemary ground in the mortar and pestle. Chicken, I add a couple of stock cubes, and white wine. Pork, I add a couple of stock cubes and white wine or cider. Pour the juices carefully into labelled bags, I find it easier to stand them in a jug for support. DO NOT OVERFILL. Then allow them to cool before putting them in FLAT in the freezer. Freezing flat makes them easier to store upright. I have a dedicated gravy drawer, that little, useless, one at the bottom of the freezer. These are also perfect for individual portions of homemade soups or stews. Don't Forget To Label And Date Them. Again freeze flat, easier to store and they defrost quicker. And, if you wash them thoroughly, you can reuse them. We do until they get past it, usually 5 or 6 times. Then recycled with all the other plastics.

Sturdy but too small for what l wanted. Wouldn't stand up properly but might be alright for sauces

Freezing soup has always been a problem, and these sealable bags are the solution. They are able to stand up when full but need support at first. I solved the problem by using a jug to transfer my soup from pan to bag without any spillage. It remains to be seen if they are really washable.
