Water Clear Casting Cast Resin 1kg (Polyester) - Supplied with Hardener

So, like a few others, this was my first time using resin. I needed to do a very simpler job as a bit of a joke so didn't want to spend much and didn't aim for perfection. Firstly the odour. It wasn't that bad and no leaks. The packaging had a faint waft, but kept in the garage not an issue. Whilst working with it, also didn't seem too bad. I have a proper sundstrom half face vapour respirator for work and used that and there was zero smell. But even without it in a garage with the doors open it wasn't so bad at all. Until the mix was curing and then up close it was strong without the mask but you had to get close. I used the whole lot, which I think is about 800ml. I did 4 consecutive pours to cast something within a glass jar. Pouring after the previous pour gelled. Soon after it generated a substantial amount of heat, so much so I was worried the glass would crack so I partly submerged it in luke warm water. Overall from first pour to final pour being rock hard was about 4 or 5 hours. First pours I used 1.5% hardener then 1% on the last given the amount of heat already being generated. Mixing it was fine and even for a beginner I think I managed that well and controlled bubbles reasonably well. The final cured stuff does appear to be rock solid and crystal clear (apart from minor bubbles from mixing and bubbles coming out of what I was casting but I knew that would be unavoidable so wasn't bothered). Would definitely buy again for the price as resin is horrendously expensive and this has worked just fine for what I wanted.

I had been meaning to cast my sons deseased tarantula and sun beatle for ages, and decided to take the bullet and buy some resin, which i had never used before, im so happy with the end result, it was really straight forward to use the sheet guide really helps. The back ofbthe spider could do with a sabd and polish because the plastic tub i used must of been greasy as it was an old take away tub, the only thing which is a pain is the smell.its super strong, so i suggest storing in an outsode shed maybe, but other then that i absolutely love it, my daughter is using the rest to make keyrings and im going to order more so i can do an outside bottle lid table. Great product defo reccomend.

This is a relatively easy to use epox resin although you want good protection and very good ventilation. It does have a very noticeable smell before use and more so during curing. The material of pretty hazardous so wear eye protection, gloves, and ensure you don't get any on your clothing. It does cure pretty fast and the resin get very hot. I wasn't using a silicon mould and that led to the resin cracking as it does get very hot and expands a lot before cooling and shrinking. The cracking was my fault as it was a deep pour. Although in my case the cracking added to the aesthetic so I wasn't displeased but if you want to ensure it doesn't crack and get a clear cast take care to allow for expansion and shrinkage by using a silicon mold or similar. Measuring the right amount of resin to hardener can be a little problematic but should be good if you have some good measuring scales. Probably not the best beginner resin and the smell might be too much if you don't have great ventilation where you're using it.

Very well packaged, easy to follow instructions & everything included that was needed. Smell was not as bad as I expected when stored only really noticeable when mixing/pouring. Set crystal clear in 24 hours but slightly tacky so left 48 before handling, as it was used outside under cover below 10*C I had expected it to take longer in the cold to fully cure. Well impressed with the results, only slight improvement would be to sell it in litres instead of kilograms as its mixed in volume not weight and would be easier to work out how much is required. Overall very impressed with the results even buying a 2nd kit, would not hesitate to recommend this resin as it’s great value and quality.

Fantastic product. Crystal clear finish. Able to demould after 12hrs totally cured after 20hrs. This product does have a very strong smell, mask requiredand well ventilated room, but the finished results are worth it and smell disappears when cured. Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Would highly recommend this product and will be ordering again.

I don't have a huge amount of experience with resin , so not sure if this is simply par for the course , but I think it needs to be said how strong smelling this stuff is. I made a batch and have moulded a few things, the instructions were clear, the result so far seems good - they took around 24 hours to fully set, very clear finish and a low amount of bubbles. However the smell. The smell is atrocious, incredibly strong. When the instructions say well ventilated they mean if you do this indoors without an extractor fan the place will smell. It's like white spirits x 100. The finished items don't seem to have the same smell , I've left them out to air and they seem ok. The bottle the resin arrives in is for whatever reason extremely odorous. I've swaddled mine in cling film and put inside an airtight tupperware for storage , otherwise I'd have to dispose of it as it wouldn't be worth storing in the house. Once you have mixed a batch , the mixing tubs etc smell just as bad , so I'd highly recommend sealing those up after use. I've read you can clean them with rubbing alcohol and then soap and water , I'll be trying that shortly. I have already purchased an alternate resin to see if it just as bad , if not I won't purchase this again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone without the caveat of the smell.

Never used Resin before, Brought to make wall decor for our house. It was easy to mix and really clear! Used it with alcohol ink and it came out amazing!! Used it on canvas and plan to use on wood next, the only downfall is it stink, we had to wrap it up and put away as it smells the whole kitchen out but other than that 5 stars ⭐️⭐️
