The product dimensions say - 30 x 27.2 x 1 cm but on packet it says 50cm and 60cm? can someone explain please?

My packaging talks about the cooker HOOD size as 55cm or 60cm. My own cooker hood is 60cm, but the filter doesn't span the whole width of the hood. Maybe that's the difference. The one I ordered has actual dimensions 57cm by 47 cm and its fine - you just have to cut it to size

Dots facing down or up towards the fan? instructions says stripes up! there are no stripes! on the filter says stripes down? so which one is true?
