Pop-up Toy

I bought this sweet little sensory toy expecting some gentle developmental fun. What I did NOT expect was for my child to become utterly obsessed, cackling with delight like a tiny caffeinated game show contestant every time a peg popped up. This toy is brilliantly simple - press, push, pop, repeat - yet somehow it has the hypnotic power of the world’s most exclusive toddler nightclub. The colourful wooden pieces are bright, engaging, and apparently irresistible to small humans who enjoy repeatedly testing cause and effect like miniature scientists with zero chill. The popping action is gloriously satisfying. Every button press is met with a cheerful surprise, which means my little one reacts like they’ve personally discovered magic. Fine motor skills? Improving. Hand-eye coordination? Flourishing. Me? Sitting there in stunned silence because a wooden peg just provided 45 uninterrupted minutes of entertainment. Build quality is fantastic too - sturdy wooden construction that feels refreshingly durable compared to some plastic toys that seem one tantrum away from retirement. This thing has been bashed, dropped, enthusiastically slobbered on, and generally treated like it owes my child money… and it still looks fabulous. And because it’s Galt, it somehow manages to be educational without feeling like I’ve accidentally purchased homework. Learning through play at its finest - or, as my toddler calls it, “SMASH POP AGAIN.” Bonus: no batteries, no obnoxious electronic jingles, and no voice repeatedly shouting colours at me in an unnerving tone. Just wholesome, satisfying, sensory fun. 10/10 - delightful, durable, and engaging enough that I’ve genuinely considered having a go myself when nobody’s looking.

Seen this at a playgroup and bought for grandson. He loves it and it works very well. It is good quality wood and well put together. I think it is value for money and very safe for little ones.

I bought this for my son as I wanted him to have some toys that were wood, not only plastic. He's at the right age to be interested in things that "pop-up" and so this seemed the best of both worlds, and a good price too. He loves it! And it's a big hit with other children that come to visit as well, so far up to age 3. Later I'm sure it will also be helpful for learning and matching colours, but right now he's just enjoying the simple cause and effect. He likes that he can put the pegs in himself and then he can take them out, ping them out, bounce them up and down... Interestingly he's very specific about putting the pegs in the right way around (with the faces at the top end), which is a play/learning element I hadn't even considered. Those pegs do roll though! Maybe the manufacturer could give them slightly flatter sides - like a pencil shaft or something? But until then, keep an eye out that you don't slip over on them, or try and keep track for when they roll under the fridge etc. If you're looking for a well priced, fun, to be much played with present for a 1st birthday - this will tick all of those boxes.

Baby loves the little cylinder sticks. They are fun, good to showcase colours, easy to grab and bite friendly. For a couple of months it has been all about pulling them out, studying them and throwing them around, so if you get this toy be prepared to keep searching these not very big sticks around the house to put them back in place,.. haha that's parenting I guess. Now at 11 months, she is starting to attempt putting the sticks back into their slots. BUT the bloody base keeps faling over and baby looses interest,it is not steady enough to withstand little staggering test. I wish they made the base wider in order to ensure that the base stays up for successfull and failed attempts to put the sticks in their niches. Come to think about it, I will probably ask my partner to stick tit o a wooden base. She hasn't figured out the spring effect yet ( I am letting her discover it by herself)

When my little one turned 7 months, I struggled to find a toy that had some "action-reaction" but still very simple. most of the pegs toys i saw had different shapes or were making awful noises. I could not have made a better choice. First of all the quality is excellent: the pegs have been bitten and banged a thousand times and the paint is still as new. The box is sturdy and does not have any part that could come out and is small enough to fit in a bag. I really enjoy the fact that this game can be used at many levels. At first my baby enjoyed watching me making the pegs jump, later he took an interest in the pegs, looking at them, banging them together, making them roll, dropping etc. He also loved the box itself (especially the screw hole at the back). Aged 9 months he started putting the pegs in the holes. I know that later on, he will enjoy sorting them as well. I have decided to make this toy my gift to all the babies I know. It really is keeping mine entertained for hours and I could not recommend it more.

I bought this for my 16-month-old for Christmas. He loves it! PROS: + Sturdy, well made, non-toxic (it's by Galt, a well-represented brand) + Unpredictable bounce, which makes it more fun - lots of laughing and giggles when they pop out! + Good for practicing coordination when getting the stick men back into their holes + Affordable, so good for a birthday present for a friend's child / class party CONS: - I'm still slightly nervous about one of the stick men popping up into my son's eye, though that hasn't happened to date. Perhaps avoid for smaller / younger babies who will might lean directly over it too closely? That's it, and I note no-one has commented on this in any reviews, so I might just be worrying too much!

When I first got this toy for my 9month old, I thought it was a bit rubbish. It's a wooden block with 4 pegs in that when you push the pegs down, they pop out. My 9month old wasn't particularly interested in it, all she wanted to do was eat the pegs (they are too big to cause a choking hazard). However, I also have a two year old. He found this toy to be quite amusing when he pushed the pegs down and they sprang out. He also enjoyed matching the coloured pegs to the coloured slots and it's also great for hand eye co ordination. It's a nice well made, simple but effective little toy. ...............this is an added note.....my 9month old is now One, and she absolutely loves this toy. She loves putting the pegs in the slots and laughs her head off when she pushes them down and they spring out. As an adult it's hard to see the entertainment value in this toy, but my children love it.

We got this for our so at about 9-10mo. He is now over 2 and still thinks it a hilarious and fascinating toy. To start with we would make the little stick figures fly to much laughter and surprise. Eventually he could press them down himself, then he learned the technique of making them fly really high. Now he also sorts them by colour. It might look a simple toy but it has staying power! (We have used other similar popping toys but found this the simplest and easiest for younger kids to use as the sticks are all the same length and fit in all holes.)

Ho preso questo giochino come regalino per una bimba che avrà un anno tra pochi giorni; la bimba è la sorellina di un amichetto di mio figlio, a cui sono molto affezionata, perché dolcissima, curiosa e giocosa! Sapevo che era amante (come la sua mamma!) dei giochini in legno e questo, anche e soprattutto leggendo le recensioni, mi sembrava perfetto! E infatti così è stato...che divertimento appena aperta la confezione! Tutti si sono messi a giocare con lei: mio figlio, l'amichetto di mio figlio (entrambi 7 anni) e la sorellina piccolina. Tutti e tre a giocare insieme con questo regalino, grandi e piccini! La piccola era affascinata inizialmente da come i bimbi facevano saltare i quattro colori...perché serve un pochino di forza e manualità per riuscirci, una bimba di un anno non riesce ma si diverte (assicuro!!) solo prendendoli, manipolandoli, facendoli rotolare a terra (che sorrisi vedendo scivolare i 4 pezzi sul pavimento), e poi ha capito che poteva inserirli nei fori, e quindi, vedendo i bimbi più grandi, ha compreso che potevano essere inseriti al posto giusto (cosi le facevano tutti i complementi), rosso col rosso, giallo col giallo...e cosi via...un pomeriggio a giocare con questi cilindretti colorati, anche solo passandoceli e dicendo in maniera infinita ;-) "grazie, prego!"...è un gioco anche questo!! Una gioia vedere di aver fatto un buon acquisto e oltre tutto tanto apprezzato; in più, ho trovato questa confezione nella categoria Amazon Warehouse Deals con una super offerta e quindi sono ancor più soddisfatta: rapporto qualità-prezzo ottimo! In sintesi, 5 stelle per questo piccolo gioco, fatto con materiali naturali; approvato anche da bimbi piccini (12+)! Grazie alle molle interne, i pezzi possono saltare (balza su appunto) ma un bimbo/a di 12 mesi non riesce bene ma vedendo i balzi fatti dai grandi si è tanto divertita! Certo, abbiamo detto "ai grandi" di non mirare sul viso e di stare comunque sempre attenti, come d'altronde indicato sulle avvertenze. Solo il bello quindi di un gioco semplice, ingegnoso e divertente! Aggiungo qualche foto, spero sia utile per valutare meglio un eventuale acquisto. Ciao!

Tolles und sehr robustes Lernspiel das bis heute von meinen Kindern sehr gerne gespielt wird. Das Design lädt auch über einen längeren Zeitraum die Kinder immer wieder zum spielen und neuem Lernen ein.
