Please** A: Save yourself money and use washing up dish sponges..you’ll get dozens for the price of this. Plus the plastic ridge around the sponge scratches alloys and plastics. Waste of money. Mine went in the bin after scratching alloys **Q: How many applications do you get?** A: I'm afraid I cant answer that question, it depends what size your tyres are & how heavy handed you are. **Q: can put tyer paint on it** A: If tyre paint is thicker and heavier than a tyre dressing it may be that the sponge applicator is spoilt after using with a paint? At the car wash they use a regular paint brush and I assume that would be easier to clean. The tyre dressing really never dries (as I assume a tyre paint might) and my sponge applicator is a couple of years old. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No mess! *by M***E on 18 May 2026* Nice items very easy to use, and no mess! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good little item *by S***. on 1 November 2025* Simple but effective ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent applicator pad but it does wear out *by A***E on 2 March 2012* I've been using my applicator pad for the last seven months to treat the tyres on two different cars and I am really pleased with it. It's far better than anything I've used before and I particularly like the fact that it has a cover which keeps the mess inside and away from hands etc. It also has nicely shaped sponge for the applicator - it is curved to suit the shape of the tyre walls but also has square edges which means that I can apply the treatment right up to the edge of the wheel rim. Rather than a gel I have been using Autoglym tyre dressing which seems to work quite well as a treatment and using the applicator rather than the trigger spray means that there is far less waste or mess. It even works well when treating mudflaps and other plastics!
