WHY Five Stars from a reader
I have been looking at cat decks for years. At the time, I didn't have cats, my last one passed, and I had a dog, but have always been a Cat and a Dog peep.Anyway, still have my dog, but now have two cats. Wanted a cat deck but one with cats being cats and RWS symbolism. SO many decks basically had lovely images of cats, but just stuck numbers on and basically some of the images could have been most any card.Someone suggested, another reader, that I look at this deck. I had years ago, but didn't like the borders with all the languages. Just not aesthetically pleasing.THEN I saw there was a BORDERLESS version!FIRST, if you can read Rider WAite system easily, know the symbolism, you can read with this even though no titles. It's CATS being cats, not dressed like people, but follows the symbolism of Rider Waite enough to be easily readable without title, just numbers. The images are GREAT. WELL DONE and DETAILED.LOVE the cardstock, shuffles easily, even love the papery smell!Without borders, the images just POP.First deck I have gotten IN YEARS, and glad I did.

I love these guys...
I got the Pagan Cats Tarot on a whim, after reading positive reviews, and I love them! They follow the standard Rider-Waite format, so you don't need a dedicated book to read these cards, tho they do come with the standard LWB (little white booklet). I have read my cards, and for family and friends and I gotta say, they seem to be right on the money, and easy to read. The cats aren't cutsy pie kittys, just mostly natural cats doing natural cat stuff. The cards are standard size, 2 5/8ths" by 4 3/4", and are thin slippery laminated card stock, easy to shuffle and easy to play 78 card pick up. The backs are purple and have a triple moon with a hairless egyptian cat's head, and they are situated so you can't tell if a card is upright or reversed. The names of the card are written in six languages on the tops and bottoms outside the borders. The suits are standard Wands, Swords, Chalices and Pentacles. There isn't any really overt in your face Pagan symbology in these cards, but there are some. Strength for example has a stone in the foreground with a inscribed pentacle and in the background a crystal ball on a stand. Both images are overshadowed by a regal white cat with her paw on a chow dog's head. In other cards are the triangle symbols for Earth, Air, Fire and Water, as well as moon phases, triskeles, a cauldron over a fire, etc. The Moon card has most of the standard Waite symbology, but the Moon's face is a cat's. One of my favorite cards is the Knight of Swords, which shows a tabby cat riding on the back of a snowy owl,(not so natural for cats or owls!) who is carrying a sword in it's talons. These cards follow Rider Waite just enough to be familiar and easy to read, but they have their own style, some cards vary a lot some not at all. I love them, and they are one of the decks I reach for on a daily basis.

Absolutely stunning in person
I saw many reviews and flip-throughs of this deck before I finally decided to buy it, and I'm glad I did. It looks beautiful in pictures, but in person, especially as a cat lover, it's even better. The colors are very vibrant and each card shows a lot of attention and care to details when it comes to translating the meaning and feel of the classic RWS tarot. The box it came in did appear slightly damaged at the borders. It's a soft material, so I'm not sure if it was this way before or if this happened while it traveled to my country. The cards inside, however, came in perfect condition. I do wished Amazon would maybe use a sturdier package for these kind of products, considering how expensive international shipping can be.The size of the cards is a bit smaller than other tarots (I don't own many decks, but comparing it to the Centennial Edition of the RWS, this one is smaller and thinner). The cards are not as thick as other decks, but I have small hands, so the cards being smaller and thinner actually makes it a lot easier for me to shuffle. I do think they need to be handled with a bit extra care because of that. Other than that, I love it and do recommend it.

They are nice, just not for me
They really didn't have markings for those of us who aren't very well versed in Tarot. I didn't know what cards meant what. The art is lovely though and I'm sure someone put some heart and soul into them.

Beautiful deck!!
If you love cats & you love tarot this is the deck for you. I have been working with tarot for ten years now & have many decks, but this one quickly became one of my favorites. The artwork is VERY GOOD. The artist really knows how to capture the body language & expressions of cats & these are used to great effect to convey the meanings of the cards. I found that all I really needed to do was look at these cards & the meaning was evident. And that's good because the LWB (little white book) that comes with the deck gives only the barest hint of card meanings. It also gives two spreads for these cards. And is in several languages as Lo Scarabeo usually does. The deck would be good for beginners & experts alike, & would also be appropriate for younger folks too.The pagan aspect is nice too & not overdone. (Really what else would cats be if not pagan?) If you know something about wicca, witchcraft, or paganism then some of the symbology will have more meaning for you. But even if you didn't know anything about it, the deck would still speak volumes just in the expressiveness of the cats themselves. All in all it is a delightful deck! Best cat deck yet published.(I have no idea why this page says "ring bound" as this is just a regular deck of Lo Scarabeo Tarot cards packaged in a small box with the LWB.)

My favourite deck yet
I actually love these cards way more than I expected, it might just be my favourite deck. The card stock is just right, it's not too thick so they're easy to shuffle and they're not too thin so they don't get bent. The card backs are absolutely gorgeous and a massive selling point for me. They are also reversable if you're one of those people who needs reversable backs. The artwork is BEAUTIFUL. The cats just show so much emotion and I connect with them on such a personal level. They follow the traditional Smith Waite imagery so they are easy to read. They also have a number and suit symbol at the bottom of each card so you don't have to read any roman numerals or know all the cards off by heart. They are the average tarot card size, more tall than they are wide and easy to work with if you have small hands. The one thing I will say is that this listing currently doesn't mention whether they are borderless or not. In some of the reviews people seem to have the traditional version but I received borderless.
