Hozelock Auto Reel 2595 40m Hose

Fabulous bit of kit, expensive but well worth the money. A very neat and effective way of storing your garden hose. Thank you.

Bought this to replace our old manual winding Hozelock (15m) hose as we really wanted to go beyond the rear garden and have scope to get to the front of the house to wash the car, water the front garden and clean the front patio. It was pretty straight forward to install (all of the parts are contained under the side cover) and comes supplied with a variable jet spray nozzle (which I replaced with a Hozelock Multi-Spray Ultramax), a short length of tap connection hose, two hose connectors ('regular' and 'water stop' valve - which I replaced with metal 'Pro' versions), a screw tap connector with adaptor (again, replaced with a metal 'Pro' version) and 4 x 50mm screws with 7mm wall plugs which - given the weight of this (17kg empty) - looked mismatched and basically not up to the job... but if you drill them tight to the specified 7mm into a good solid wall surface, combined, I found they were absolutely rock solid on our brick wall (drilled through the brick, not the mortar). To use, it takes a few goes to get used to the 'locking to the length you want' and 'rewinding' procedures but you start to feel how it works and then it's easy. The mechanism winds the hose in and distributes it evenly on the enclosed reel as it does so. It's pretty clever in that regard. And of course, the whole unit is detachable from the wall bracket (lockable with a padlock) so that it can be stored during the cold months (which is highly recommended to extend the life of the unit). The hose itself is Hozelock's finest 'Ultramax' and... well, time will tell... but I expect it will outlast the lifetime of the unit if looked after. Downsides? Well... firstly, it's [neccessarily] big and quite heavy... so make sure you know what you're letting yourself in for in that regard. Having said that, once it's installed and folded against the wall, the size of it oddly disappears and it just becomes another bit of plastic garden kit. Second, it's easy to be put off by the supplied screws and wall plugs. They really don't look like they will hold it up and having read some reviews on here, they haven't... but I feel this may be an installation issue. Make sure you mount it on a good wall, drill accurately and to instruction and you'll be fine. Get your own beefier anchors if it inspires more confidence in the product, but in my view, that won't be neccessary for most applications. Third, the shape of the wall bracket won't allow for some electric screwdrivers or drill screwdriving to be used without risk of wrecking the screwheads. I used a 12" long 'old school' 'Pozidrive' screwdriver and screwed them in manually but it was hard work! And then lastly, ours leaks a little bit... somewhere within the casing that I can't really get to without voiding the warranty probably... but again, it's not a real deal-breaker as it's not a lot and it is mounted above our perimeter grille drain so it's dealt with. I'll keep an eye on this because if it really starts to wee over the next few months, I'll probably hassle Hozelock for a replacement. Other than that, It's excellent and a joy to use. Highly recommended. ** Review Edit 1** Okay, so it's been a week and a bit... and it has started to properly leak internally. I would've tolerated it if the leak continued to be a dribble as the hose retraction still worked perfectly and water pressure was still good... but it's turned into a fountain at the Auto Reel end so I've requested a replacement from Amazon, who's legendary customer support was again, superb (Hozelock's support phoneline incidently, is constantly engaged). New one arrives tomorrow. Hopefully, leak-free. Will keep you updated. ** Review Edit 2 ** New one arrived... swapped them out. No leaks. Sorted!!

This hose is massive but ideal for reaching from from the back garden around to the front. It looks quite big fitted to the wall but it obviously needs to be to fit 40 metre of hose inside the hose reel. It pulls out and retracts easily but takes some strength due to the weight of the hose. The screws supplied for mounting the unit on the wall were worse than useless! The heads snapped off and rounded out and were made of stainless steel! Absolutely useless and not fit for purpose. Thankfully my son had some much stronger screws that were more suitable and he managed to finish the job. The actual hose reel can lift of the mounting easily for Winter storage. All in all I’m very happy with the hose and feel it’s worth paying the extra for the hose length and quality.

I was tired of rolling in my hose pipe manually so purchased this auto reel and it is marvellous. Pulls out easily and once used a slight pull and it rewinds easily and automatically. A great buy. Need to drill 4 holes and lift and it is heavy but managed to do so by myself. Fitted a padlock to make item secure.

A small part of my roof is thatched so having a long hosepipe for emergency use is essential. My old hose started to become brittle and crack after decades of use. As we use various Hozelock sprays we decided to buy the longest Hozelock hose with enclosed reel and auto rewind. This has proved much easier and neater than our old hose that was coiled onto a hook mounted in the wall. Installation was simple enough although access to the mounting screws makes tightening them awkward. The hose reel is still new with limited use. So far it works perfectly, but if I encounter any problems I will update this review.

Whist the hozelock works very well, the biggest problem is the raw plugs and screws supplied for fitting the wall bracket they are completely rubbish. Throw then in the bin and use good quality screws and raw plugs, otherwise you will have problems , apart from the bracket fitting screws etc, the Hozelock is very good with excellent retractable system.

The hoze is odeal and makes watering the garden or washing the car so much easier,. Only one issue was nothing to do with the product but about the Amazon delivery driver who completely ignored my call to him to leave the large heavy box on the drive so that it would make it easier to get into my garage rather than to take it back down the steps where he had left .

Purchased the 40m auto rewind on Thursday 21/05/26. Mounted the bracket on the wall and at first everything seemed promising. Then came the moment of truth, testing the “auto rewind” feature. Pulled the hose out as instructed and it locked in place fine. Gave it another pull to activate the rewind and… absolutely nothing. The hose just sat there like it had gone on strike. Tried again, same result. I didn’t want to keep pulling more hose out because if it had to go back, I’d probably need a search and rescue team to get 40 metres of spaghetti wound back in manually. Thought I’d at least try using it as a normal hose while it was mounted. Turned the tap on and water immediately started flooding out of the bottom of the unit instead. Apparently this model doubles as a garden fountain. I’m currently waiting for a replacement and collection of the faulty one, so for now it’s a 1 star review, although that could change if the replacement actually performs its one main job. For the price paid though, this is not a great first impression. After reading reviews, it also seems I’m far from alone with these issues. One more attempt and after that it’ll be getting refunded faster than the hose rewinds.

This is a delight to use. I love how it rolls itself back into the container and I don't have to wind a hose up to keep it out of the way.

Wir haben einen grossen Garten (1100Quadratmeter) und immer die Schläuche (Gardena)mit Schlauchwagen (Gardena ) zusammen gestückelt und mühselig aufgewickelt. Da wir seit ~20 Jahre erfahrene Gartler sind und auf Gardena schwören haben wir lange! überlegt aber sind Dank der YOUTUBE Videos und den Rezesionen zum Entschluss gekommen das ist auch eine sehr gute Qualität und Fazit seit diesem Jahr im Gebrauch wir bereuen es nicht- im Gegenteil wir sagen 😊 Warum haben wir diese Investion nicht schon eher getätigt. Es ist immer alles aufgeräumt und man kann die Box abschließen (Diebstahl) gesichert und im Winter einfach entfernen und frostfrei lagern. Vorallem haben wir vor unserer Haustür Eingang eine grosse Fläche zu bewässern und im eigentlichen Garten und eben hier das praktische schwenken dieser Box - einfach Top👍. Genau so die Anwendung der Stopper beim Abwickeln und das Schönste und müheloseste das AUFWICKELN in kürster Zeit und ohne Anstrengung. Einfach super Zufrieden und deshalb ☆☆☆☆☆ ausgezeichnetes Gerät und auch schönes neutrales Disign.
