I hope this one lasts longer.
Our weather station works well but the sensor stopped working, yet again. Very expensive to replace - not much cheaper than buying a new weather centre. Hope this one lasts longer than our previous ones. Won't bother to replace it again.

Sensor failed after two years
Worked fine for almost two years then started playing up by not communicating with main unit. Eventually stopped completely. Expensive product that only lasts a short time.

Why buy new set up when you can replace part of it??
Original sensor stop working after about 3 years in the cold and damp. Looked into replacement or buy whole new set up. Replacement seemed the easy and cheaper option. Bought replacement sensor after checking part number compatibility with display unit. Easy to set up after pushing the reset button. All works fine as per original set up. Thought the sensor was a little expensive but I now see Amazon have reduced the price I paid by 25%. Wish this price had been available to me. Would recommend.

Good Sensor !
This was to be the third sensor for my Oregon BAR908HG weather station. They no longer do the older model sensor (RTGN301) that came with the station, which I bought in October 2012, and this is the newer replacement type.It came with a AA Maxell Alkaline battery (it does say 'for demonstration purposes' on the Amazon web page) but I installed a Duracell M3 AA battery instead the reason being it that if an alkaline battery 'leaks, as they often do, they corrode the devices terminals.Other than that it took only a minute to set the sensor up, firstly you select which channel you want to use (I selected 3) then you press the reset on the sensor after inserting the battery, then put on the battery cover. After that you need to mage the main unit search for the sensor, which took about 15 seconds, then the readings from the sensor appeared on the screen, job done !

Not a cheap product but it provides the temperature and humidty readings back to my base station from about 20m away (when the batteries are new). I purchased this to replace a sensor that also had the advantage of having the temperature and humidity readings also on the sensore. Unfortunately Oregon Scientific no longer make that sensor. The base station is now several years old and I thought that I would have to replace it however an email to Oregon and they notified me of this new compatible sensor. Still working and sending data after 4 months on the same batteries.

Mostly good
After using one of these for many years without a problem, a replacement bought last October lasted only 7 months before developing a fault. However, Amazon gave a full refund and I'm hoping this one will last. I really don't like the reset button which is so tiny that it has to be depressed using a very small screwdriver and you are left wondering whether you have succeeded in pressing it or not. Other than that, it's easy to use and set up and comes with a user's guide.
