High quality hair clay and smells very nice. The consistency is a smooth soft spreadable clay almost like a cream that’s easy to rub with your fingers/hands and to spread it in your hair. In the past, around 2024, this hair clay wasn’t the best because the clay was a hard texture that didn’t hold hair very well but in late 2025/2026 the clay is smooth, spreadable and soft which is an improvement.

I’ve used this for a while now and always come back to it. The hold is strong enough to last a full workday without going stiff or crunchy, and I like that the finish is more natural than shiny gels or waxes. A little goes a long way, so even though it’s not the cheapest, a tub lasts me ages. It washes out easily and doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy or greasy. Solid choice if you want a reliable styling product that works day in, day out.

This American Crew Fiber is exactly what I needed. Gives good hold without looking shiny or greasy, and it adds nice texture to my hair. Works great on thick hair like mine, and I can style it easily without it feeling stiff. Smells good too. Definitely my go-to for everyday styling.

Smell good, strong hold

The hold is excellent and a nice matt look whilst bringing out a bit of a rough/messy texture, without going too curly. Thickens the hair slightly too. Only takes a little bit of working into the palms before applying and goes in nice and easy. The only downside is the smell, not sure if mine is defective or something because others have described the smell as nice and "subtle", but mine has a strong chemically lemon scent that I find very overbearing, even when using a small amount. It also lingers for a long time and I can smell it throughout the day and makes me self conscious that others can smell it too. Very unpleasant smell. I don't think anybody needs such a strong fragrance for a hair product. It's a shame as I also have the defining paste which has a lovely subtle woody scent. While the styling effect of the product is great I don't think I'll buy again due to the obnoxious scent

Textur & Halt: Das Gel hat eine cremige Konsistenz, lässt sich super verteilen und verleiht Struktur, ohne zu kleben oder zu glänzen. Der Halt ist stark, aber flexibel – kein betonierter Look, sondern kontrolliertes, lässiges Styling, das den ganzen Tag hält. Und: Keine Rückstände, kein Crunch-Effekt wie bei billigem Gel. Duft: Dezent, maskulin, ein bisschen wie Barbershop – genau mein Ding. Nicht aufdringlich, aber präsent genug, dass man sich gepflegt fühlt. Preis: Ja, es ist teurer als das Drogerie-Gel für 2,99 €, aber: Man braucht wirklich wenig davon, es funktioniert einfach jedes Mal, und es hinterlässt weder fettige Haare noch weiße Rückstände. Für mich ist das den Preis absolut wert. Fazit: Einmal ausprobiert, sofort überzeugt. Jetzt steht es bei mir im Bad – und ich weiß, warum so viele auf American Crew schwören. Wer Wert auf zuverlässiges, stilvolles Styling legt, wird hier definitiv fündig.

By nature, I'm a experimenter. I'm always looking for the latest-and-greatest products to try out, in hopes of finding the next best thing. Despite the numerous hair-styling products I've tried - from pomades, to pastes, to gels and creams - THIS is the one styling product that I always come back to. It just works so well! I'm a young male with short, fine hair, and this is the absolute best paste I've found to date. It's matte, non-sticky, non-clumping, non-greasy and non-weighty. It's basically exactly what I look for in a styling paste. I also love the fact that it texturizes and adds some thickness to my thin hair. I don't find that it requires me to wash my hair daily, and I can keep it in while I sleep without my pillow becoming sticky and full of residue. I don't want to say that it's the perfect styling paste on the market... but it's certainly very close. Highly recommended for men with short, fine hair looking to add a little bit of texture and thickness to their hair. You'll be surprised just how well it works!
