BUT this jug is AWESOME, Not only does it have the retro class ...
Read the reviews on here and was 50/50 .... Wrong shape handle etc etc ... BUT this jug is AWESOME , Not only does it have the retro class look to it , but it's real thick glass and the handle is more then suited to this jug , it's easy to grip and carry when full , it fits in the fridge super ... I use mine to mix Iced tea and take it straight out on the the patio , and this jug looks very smart !!! In fact I have placed orders for two more for myself and two for friends who seen it !!! So for this price you will not find better

Great jug, but the lids suck
I have two of these as our water filter is downstairs and our home office is upstairs so handy to make sure we drink enough. The lids are rubbish, they make the water drip all over the place so I remove them every time I pour out water - I keep it on to keep dust/flies out.Would definitely recommend, the look nice and I'm sure someone complained about the handle not being able to hold the weight but I've never noticed any problem - I fill them up full and carry two full jugs of water up a large set of stairs regularly, never noticed any problems.Would definitely purchase again if I needed to.

Super-strong and ideal for ice tea
After one glass jug casualty thanks to pouring boiling water inside it (RIP jug) I decided to hunt for something a little sturdier. I love making my own flavoured ice tea at home so needed something that was strong, substantial, easy to clean and still the right size fit in my narrow fridge at home. This one seemed like a solid choice after reading some more than glowing reviews.Arriving very well-packaged, I was eager to rinse it out and start using it right away. Although it isn't recommended, I was able to pour boiling water straight out of the kettle into it with no issues at all - as mentioned, my previous jug shattered when coming into contact with such temperatures. Which was pretty impressive! It does feel heavy when full as it is quite weighty even when empty, but isn't an issue for myself. It fits in the door of my fridge perfectly & ready for use whenever I need it. When finished, it's easy to throw (not literally) into the dishwasher and comes out sparkling clean.Ideally I'd like the handle to be fully connected in order to make it feel fully secure when full, though I haven't had a problem with it so far. The lid can also be fiddly to remove and doesn't make the vessel fully airtight, so I'd recommend putting cling film or a cover on top when storing your beverages.I'd recommend this jug to anyone making their own drinks, teas and juices at home - this jug is much stronger than others I've tried, won't shatter or crack, holds plenty and can easily be washed in the dishwasher with no hassle. The price is excellent for what you get and can't be beat.

Not Pitcher Perfect!
I purchased two of these 1.7L pitchers with very high expectations after seeing it had received such great reviews, however, the word useless doesn't quite cover it.The lid design is the worse I've ever seen! It's impossible to removing it from the pitcher because it has no way of gripping it while trying to pull it off. Children and the elderly will not be able in removing the lid. The amount of force it takes to grip the lip with your fingers for removal is super-human strength. The lid is also cheaply designed to the point that it has sharp thin edges all around the mating section to the pitcher. This makes it very difficult in cleaning without cutting or puncturing her fingers or hand. I don't think it's dishwasher save either just because of it's thin wall sections and the cheap plastic material it's made from. I'm guessing it would deform and not ever fit and work again. But wait there's more! This lid design and the ridiculous small glass spout design makes pouring your contents impossible. Other people wrote about this in their review as well where you can not pour your contents into anything without the liquid pouring all over the pitchers sides and bottom leaving a serious clean-up mess after each use. I'm betting the contents that pour out all over the counter and floor is equal to what goes into your glass! It's ridiculous how much is wasted! I even tried pouring the contents without the lid on to see if the pitcher on it's own could pour liquid without leaking it all over the place. And it still leaked onto the pitchers sides leaving a messy clean-up after pouring.I was truly hoping on utilizing these two glass pitchers for my distilled water storage, but will be returning them both since most of the distilled water I produce ends up on the counter and floor after pouring a glass. Completely disappointed in this product!

Perfect...
Firstly just ignore the foolish comment about it leaking. The jug has a lip for liquid to flow "correctly" from. The purpose of the lid is to cover the top, keeping dust out the water, i.e.. no splashes escaping. If the top was supposed to be water tight there wouldn't be a gap to poor "smoothly" from. If ya too impatient to wait two seconds longer to fill a glass and turn the jug upside down, yes... You'll have problems. The jug is very good. Sensible capacity with a decent handle for good grip and easy pouring. Delivery was super fast and very well packaged.I bought more and I'll be buying more again.

Bad design for pouring
The jug is a good size and solid but has a very short spout. This means that when you pour, a lot of liquid can run down the front of the jug. I very nearly sent it back but have found a way to pour without rundown if I just tilt it a little and pour very slowly. It's a hassle but would be more of a nuisance to send it back. It's a pity that one poor design feature spoils what would have been a great jug.
