why does my bialetti elegance coffee maker not work on an induction hob

The details of the Kitchen Craft model that I bought & the Bialetti 3 cup both say that they will not work on induction hobs. I don't know how induction hobs work but have Googled it and found the following quote - 'Aluminum or copper alone does not work on an induction stove because of the materials' magnetic and electrical properties'. Hope this helps!

Will it fit onto a 6 prong burner?

I washed before using as advised, but the galvanise has lost it's shine. Is this normal?

Yes mine has lost its shine too. But still does the job!

It is a metallic material - but it is not a magnet. Not sure if you could attract it with a magnet?! For a hob use - it just sits on top of the heat element gas or electric.
