Useful adapter and yes, it does work with Apple AirPods
I was concerned that this little transmitter might not work well with Apple AirPods because I could not find anyone stating this categorically. I can confirm - it works just fine. If you read deeply into the different protocols supported by this device and the AirPods you might be concerned that playback quality won't be good or that there will be high latency - a delay between the sound leaving the physical device into which this is plugged and arriving at your eardrums. You have no worries on either front. Quality is excellent and latency is non-existent. Pairing is simple. Pop your AirPods back into their case and close the lid. This last bit is important because it drops any connection between your pods and any other device. Also, if you pods have recently been connected to something such as your iPhone or whatever, temporarily turn off the bluetooth on that device if it is in range. More on this later. Now turn on the transmitter (long press on the power button). You'll see winking red and blue LEDs. Hold it close to the pod case and press and hold the button on the pod case. After a few seconds you will see the transmitter blinking just a blue LED at a slower pace. Pairing is finished. Now you can plug in the transmitter, wear your pods and you're good to go. When you put in your pods you will hear the familiar connected "bong" and then playback starts. Control the volume from your sound device. AirPods seem to favour Apple kit over anything else so if you do have the piece of Apple kit to which the pods were most recently connected nearby, you must make sure you knock off bluetooth on that device before putting the pods in your ears. Otherwise the pods will favour the Apple device and reconnect to it, even though they have been successfully paired to this transmitter. I believe that this is Apple behaviour and by design, not a fault of the transmitter. For example, my pods usually stay connected to my iPhone. If my phone is in range then when I pop the pods in my ear they connect to the phone, not the transmitter. Move the phone out of the way or just turn off the bluetooth on the phone and the pods then connect to the transmitter. Once the connection is established, you can turn the bluetooth on again on the phone, or whatever device. Other than that little gotcha the pods seem to work fine. I purchased this little adapter so that I can use my pods on gym kit, most of which has a 3.5mm output for audio. It's handy to have a little bit of kit with a built in 3.5mm without the training wires. Nice and self contained. It's also handy that there is also an optional 3.5mm socket and a trailing wire if you need it, but I probably won't. No idea yet on battery life or longer term issues. I'll update this review if I find any problems but so far seems to be pretty straightforward and gives good quality audio with no noticeable latency to a pair of AirPods.

Nice little Bluetooth transmitter
Purchased this to add Bluetooth audio to our outdoor projector. Easy to set up once charged but find that the battery life lets the device down a little. Not really a problem as we use the USB port to power when in use. Overall sound quality is okay with the exception of a slight delay noticed during video playback but this does not take away from the audio. Probably consider in the future to get a faster response device. If you are using this for audio only you would not experience these issues. Great device for the money.

Simple and effective, works perfectly with my Ipod
Pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to set this up. It only took 2 days to arrive (not on Prime) from ordering. I read the instructions which didn't take long, plugged in the transmitter, and it was charged in about an hour. Pairing with my bluetooth earphones was easy and took only a few minutes. The sound is good, though possibly slightly quieter than with my wired earphones. The only thing that could be improved is that the connection is not as snug as it could be, and any jolts will cut out the sound temporarily. As I bought this primarily to use with my Ipod whilst out walking, this was annoying. However, I've found that the included 3.5mm cable fits better so I simply used that to connect the transmitter to the Ipod. The additional cable makes my Ipod more bulky to carry but not a problem for me as I always have it in my bag. Overall, happy with my purchase, which I got using a lightning deal, so well worth the money :) ---- I have changed my review to drop a star because the cable connection is now getting a bit loose too, making the sound drop every time the ipod is nudged.

I am very impressed by this product
The reason I bought this one was because it was one solid unit. I had bought previous transmitters that had short cable extensions to allow connections into awkward places. I didn’t need that flexibility and the drawbacks they gave. You see, after quite a while of use they had problems with the cable flexing and eventually offering an intermittent output. The transmitter came in a well organised box with the unit on one side and the three accessories on the other. The three accessories are: Charging cable; 3.5mm audio cable; RCA audio connect cable. Good instructions, including problem solving, were also in the accompanying leaflet, which was easy to read. As instructed I put the unit on charge before use. Once the red light had turned blue I knew it was charged, as indicated in the instructions. I was really looking forward to using the transmitter and checking if it did actually allow connections to two headphones at the same time. I wasn’t really that bothered, as long as it connected easily to any of my Bluetooth headsets. You see, I live alone and I’m a bit deaf, and these allow me to listen to the TV or computer anywhere in my flat. Well, the transmitter didn’t disappoint. It connected very easily to my first set of headphones. Then I tried it with the second set with the first ones still connected. Well, it didn’t connect at first, but that was only because the Bluetooth on my phone was still on. Once I turned that off the second pair connected to the transmitter quite easily. One little drawback that does not affect me is the low sound output. It can be a problem but, as I'm using this to listen to either my TV or PC on adjustable headphones, I can simply turn up the volume of any or all of these. In all, I recommend this transmitter.

Works perfectly and sound quality excellent
THIS IS A CHANGE TO THE ORIGINAL REVIEW SHOWN BELOW At first it worked well. After 4 weeks it ceased working. The seller didn't respond to my contact about this. They just didn't want to know. I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole if I was now a prospectIve customer. Their after sales service isn't a service because it doesn't exist. ORIGINAL REVIEW I've had various Bluetooth transmitters over the years always to connect my tv or my phone to headphones, and this little gem is far and away the best for both quality and ease of use that I've ever had. No more unsightly cables dangling from the tv as it has its own internal battery. I've only had this device for 8 days but it's been heavily used during that time and, truthfully, I can't fault it. The sound quality is excellent.

Great Product, very easy to setup
This is an excellent BT Wireless Transmitter. And it does a great job, even though it's the cheapest transmitter you can purchase. I used it on my two long haul flights recently. The sound quality is very clear and loud enough. On my last flight from Seoul to UK i didn't needed to charge it, but if i needed you can charge and use this at the same time. I paired it to my 'Wireless ear buds' which didn't take more than a minute or so, and one paired it worked perfectly every time. So if you need a BT Audio from a non-BT device this is what you need. It will work with any device which outputs from 3.5mm jack. In the package you will get; BT transmitter but also a micro USB cable for charging 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack cable 3.5mm (F) to Stereo (M) cable

They did not quite hit the mark
It works well as a bluetooth device, but the design is flawed. because the body of it is so bulky so close to the jack, it is difficult to plug into confined spaces, and the jack seems to be oversized. I use mine mainly with my Video camera and I cannot get it to stay in the camera jack socket, it keeps popping out. I have got round this by using an extension lead. which sort of defeats the object of the exercise. It is the same with my PC which does not have bluetooth, it just keeps popping out of the jack socket. This is a potentially good piece of kit let down by poor design.

Great product!
I was really pleased with the quality of the audio from this device considering the price. The instructions were simple and precise and pairing with my Bluetooth headphones was a doddle (and much simpler/faster than pairing them with a phone). The audio was a little on the quiet side and I did have to crank the volume up a lot to get it to what I wanted however I haven't tested this device on more than one TV/set of headphones. If your TV has a usb socket the device doesn't even need charging which is a huge plus and it comes straight out the box and is ready to be used. The product comes with different wires to cover all the bases in terms of audio sockets on your TV. Overall this product is great value for money and I would definitely recommend it.
