Not very accurate, the weight changes even if you tilt a bit forwards or back despite your whole weight being on the scale. This was on a flat hard floor.

Hello - what are the exact measurements for the platforms? as I am buying this for a persons with large feet size 8 and above

The platform is approximately 11.5 by 12 inches. My shoes are size 9 and I have no problem.

does it work on carpet?

I don't get the same reading on the carpet as I get on my bathroom tiles.But when I move them to different places on the carpeted floor I get different readings. Also the slightest movement can move the reading. I have since bought digital scales which are also easier for me to see. I hope it sounds clear with what I mean. In other words, I wouldn't really recommend them.
