Large British Unique Recycled All Wool Blanket/Picnic Rug by Tweedmill

This is a great 100% wool blanket & perfect for outdoor use. Wool is the best choice for outdoors, still keeps you warm round a campfire even if it gets a little wet & won’t burn. Great value for money and nice and big :)

I expected the blanket to be a bit scratchy so have done x2 washes and it has helped soften it. I immersed it in the bath for 30mins with conditioner and that made it smell lovely and then rewashed it on the woolen cycle to give it a proper rinse. I expect it to get softer the more it’s used. I’m okay with it against my skin however others may find it takes some time to get used to. It is lovely and warm and you don’t overheat. The colours are lovely in a very traditional way (harken back to my grandparents having similar style blankets) and I’m lucky that I was fortunate to get the one I liked. Initially this was to be a camp blanket for badges however I’ve swiped it for myself.

Had this blankie a while now. Yes it’s surprisingly warm for the weight and yes it Was v. scratchy but after a couple of machine washes set on very delicates and cold with Woolite detergent it’s not scratchy like when new. No shrinkage either ( air dried in a warm room ) I want another one now : )

Great blanket for the price, random colour but is only for on my bed at night as I have a cat who sleeps with me lol

This is my 5th blanket from Tweedmill. These pure wool blankets are lightweight, slightly rough to the touch against bare skin yet very warm, probably due to trapping air between the wool fibres giving a good level of insulation. I use them as additional bedding in the winter above our normal duvets. They add very little weight but the additional warmth is very evident and, if too warm, we can roll them back during the night. I use them for camping too and pop them between my sleeping bag and liner where they convert a 3-season sleeping bag into 4 seasons with the additional warmth. More recently, I've started doing similar with them in our campervans ie fastening the blankets to our duvets then popping them inside the normal duvet cover and this greatly adds to their warmth over the chillier months. I like the principle of recycling wool into these blankets with each being of a unique design. They also offer excellent value and I'm sure my 5th blanket won't be my last!

Took a chance and ordered two random recycled wool blankets... WOW! Absolutely thrilled with them... so much so, I immediately ordered two more! They are already quite soft (and I know that in time they will soften further) and the colours are absolutely stunning. These may well be made from 'recycled wool', but they are heavy, warm, substantial feeling blankets; I know they will last a lifetime. I'm thrilled with my purchase. Thank you for making a fairly expensive item so affordable. Take a chance! It's so worth it! *Update* Just returned from a weeks camping trip; I am THRILLED with these blankets. They kept me warm and cosy. My children argue over who sits with them on their lap or around them at night... blankets 5 and 6 being ordered!

I like the fact it’s Made in UK n from recycled wool so it’s warm and durable I hope! However I’m sure they could have made it softer and smoother as it’s very rough and ready Shame!! I think it will do for now for me as price is ok for the size! Also I think the edges should be sealed with some material to improve the look even more!
