Easy to setup to work with switches, Alexa and a phone app. I've attached a wee video.
The media could not be loaded. First off... It says in the product description that you need a "reset switch", in the UK what you're actually looking for is a "retractive" switch. You'll get one on Amazon or any electrical wholesaler.I setup a little test bed to try this out with some LED G9 lamps. Now I know it'll work with those, I'll buy 5 more lamps and get to wiring it up properly, the video is just the way I set it all up to test it.I found it to be easy to wire although if you don't read the instructions sheet, you could end up wiring it wrong and then it won't work.Make sure you have the right kind of switch and I'd strongly suggest a wee test setup, like the way I put this together, just so you know what you're doing will work, before you start pulling wired in and out of your walls.Once it's wired up, connection to your WiFi is simple and from there, connection to your Alexa device is easy too.Once that's all done, you can get your lights coming on in the morning with your alarm or set up other routines, depending on what you want it to do.The app you use to connect to the dimmer allows you to specify the lamp type. I'm using LED G9 lamps in the video, however I also had it working with halogen G9s. The fact it ramps up to your chosen setting means your lamps should last a bit longer than if they just went straight to 100% like they would on a standard switch.I realise this review is quite long but that's largely because I read a few where obviously people didn't know what they were doing and gave the product a bad review based on their inability to follow the instructions. It's easy to get this right and it'll work great, it's even easier to get it wrong and blame the smart dimmer rather than yourself.Oh... The app allows you to connect up various other bits of smart tech but I'll leave it at reviewing the dimmer.A great little bit of kit, just need to install it properly now...

Great electronics in a tiny package
I must say this is a tiny device and well made. Well done Moesgo. And it really works, once you overcome the pairing challenges as per another customers question. The challenge is that the beep from the device to confirm its in pairing mode is very unconvincing... the instructions say it will beep... beep but it only makes a short single sound and so you aren't convinced. Add to this the app (Smartlife) is a generic app and so its instructions about blinking lights isn't applicable and alternative pairing modes etc... and the app can take a few minutes cycling to 100% to say it hasn't succeeded. Shut power off and try again and this time hit the switch 5 times and you are still not convinced it will ever work. If I am honest, I shut the app and the device a few times and then realised the device was on the app and ready to work. Survive the above and you have a brilliantly simple device registered to Alexa and Google Home. And to confirm an answer to a question, the light switch position no longer matters as activating the device from any of SmartLife App/Google/Alexa reverses the state of the light ie. Switch on, App turns off. Then throw the switch (to physical off position) and it comes on... I know it takes some convincing but the switch is now only reporting a change of state because the switch line is now wired into the MoesGo device.I was concerned about access to the device if I lost power or wifi connection so I tested this before putting it up in the ceiling void (in a small plastic IP44 junction box). So I can report either lost power or lost Wifi, it remembers setup and you dont have to do the first paragraph "challenge" again. To conclude; you need to persevere about the pairing process (I did it on a test rig on my desk rather than in the ceiling void) but once operational, its a dream to use and connectivity to Alexa and Google Home are fabulous too.Come on MoesGo, just iron out the pairing sound and you have a winner.

Work ok for a couple of weeks, then would not turn off
I bought one of these for out lounge, to replace an older which remotely controlled through infra red. One channel was connected to a ceiling light with multiple halogen 25W G9 bulbs, the other an low energy bulb lamp. It worked fine and I set the lower dimmed position to a bit above where the lights would start to flicker. However, after a couple of weeks, the channel connected to multiple ceiling bulbs failed, it would turn on but not off. The only way to turn it off is to turn off the power to it, from the consumer unit (fuse box) and leave it off for a minute or so, so let a large capacitor drain I would imagine.Have tried it a couple of times but with the same result. I would have returned it but the refund period has now expired. I believe it to be permanently damaged.Perhaps it would be alright with other bulbs, but not the ones I was using failed. Think I am going to upgrade to LED bulbs next and look for a suitable dimmer switch to control them, as LED (negative edge) dimmers are becoming more common.

Really impressed
I wanted to have a WiFi Alexa dimmer switch for a celing light rather than using expensive smart bulbs. The issue you hit straight away is the need for a negative feed if you want to put the module in the light switch as well as the space in a normal 25mm deep wall box. They are out there but come at a price. The next option is to put the module in the light or the ceiling void. I managed to get it into the light rose which had the space. Wiring was fine although you may as I did some wire tails and additional wago connectors to get it all smart and tidy. The instructions are small but easy to follow. WiFi intergration was easy and I used an APP already in use so did not use the MoesGo APP. Integration with Alexa was seamless and so far is working fine.
