Excellent for polishing!
The wool is ultra fine and as such, polishes without any scratching. A word of WARNING! If using on any sort of painted surface, ALWAYS wear a mask! I had used a pad of it on some indoor paintwork, then took the same pad outside into the sunlight to polish another surface, which showed up quite clearly 'clouds' of microscopic paint particles from indoors that I must have been breathing in! (I contacted the suppliers regarding this possible danger.)

Good wirewool, but not a lot of it
This is a really fine wire wool bought for gently cleaning chrome. It works a treat, but theres very little in the packet, the photo is deceiving

As described
Not sure why some are complaining. It is as described - a 1m roll of fine wire wool which looks like the image when rolled up and a small piece goes a long way.

As advertised, 1 metre of steel wool
As per advertised, it's 1 metre, quality steel wool. You have to roll it out otherwise it's only 10 inches long. Not sure the problems reported with the length, it's as advertised.

perfect for polishing stainless/chrome on my car, its cleaned very well and its also easy to use with no scratches in the metal. durability is ok but found to go through it pretty quick

It was recommended to me that I fill in the spacing where the dryer vent pipe is set through the wall that I fill/pack the empty space with 'double ott' steel wool as a preventative measure against vermin being able to ingress around the opening of the pipe and the hole in the wall. I have done this and it appears to be working. I would normally use the steel wool for fine smoothing of wood finish treatment.

Extraordinary high quality product. Expensive, but well worth the price. Long fiber, ultra fine grain, oil free steel wool perfect for fret polishing on guitars. Nothing quite like it. Exactly as vendor had described.
