Q: If putting this through the dishwasher can it go through the drying cycle in the dishwasher?

Yup. It should have no problem going through the drying cycle. However, going through the drying cycle puts more wear and tear on the fibers and may cause the dish clothes to deteriorate faster.

Q: How long before they start to break down?

I have used one for several weeks. It has been washed several times in the clothes washer. I’ve used Clorox in the water each time. I can tell very little difference between that one and a new one.

Q: Do they have a hook/loop to hang with?

Hi. These cellulose squares do not have a hanging loop. I tend to run them through the dishwasher (very hot water with sanitize setting; unheated dry). They dry quickly after being squeezed out, shaken and folded over the side of a countertop dish rack to dry.
