Is this safe with plastic/polymer?

Depending on the age it might look ashy. I tossed the grip from a gen 3 S&W with the gun separately and they curled up slightly. I was able to get them back to a decent shape with hoppes. Temperature may be the key element for polymer from what I take, I never went past 64°c

Can I drop my whole gun in there?

Yes, you can drop your whole gun in there. I wouldn't do that, but you can. I've found it best to break the gun down and then put it in the solution in order to get the best cleaning possible.

Can I use it for gold jewelry??

I did on spouses wedding/engagement rings. Clean debris of quickly. Saw no adverse effect on stones or metal. Did the same thing on her turquoise and silver brooches. Clean them right up too
