Takes a few wearings to get used to them, but delivers on promise of reduced odor and easy hand washing.
These are very thin. If you want the feel of a traditional cotton sock you may want wear one over this one. Otherwise they do work well for preventing odors and keeping your feet dry and healthy. They launder well and hopefully with hold up for many washings. To prolong the life of the sock it is best to hand wash or at least use a gentle cycle with a gentle soap. These are great for hiking or even working in. If you have smelly shoe odors these can help with that too. There is no need to spray deodorizers or use limited use activated carbon type inserts. Just change your socks! Nice. They do get a bit pricey when trying to get enough pairs to last a week. I do wish they were available in a bulk pack that would save more money. Otherwise I am pleased overall. Be aware the thinness and texture do take a bit to get used too. You make not like them at first. But after seeing results they may become favorites for you. You can wear a thin sock over them too.

Fabulous Sock Liner for cold feet/weather
I searched for a sock liner to replace an old pair that had worn out. The old pair had a metallic thread and worked well so I wasn't sure about these. Once I received these though it was apparent the quality was excellent... but would they do the trick? A resounding YES!I've worn them alone as a foot warmer in a cold bed, and they keep my feet warm while barely feeling them on like I would with actual socks. I've worn them under good socks in cold weather and they increase the heat production to keep my feet warm. They have a sheer luxurious feel to them, and just the right amount of compression so they don't squeeze too hard or fall down.I find I can wear 1 pair for a couple days in a row, then switch to an alternate pair. So far I'm very pleased with these FoxRiver Sock Liners, and with the 1-year guarantee I'm hopeful these 2 pairs will get me through this winter and maybe even next winter too!

Ok for average size folks
The quality is good; there is nothing wrong with the socks themselves. I bought them because they were on the lower end of the sizing scale that I could find at the time, in spite of my 5- 5.5 foot size. So they are a little big and still give me blisters, despite multiple washings.

and they were much more comfortable than the less expensive ones available locally
I purchased these for my teenaged daughter, who was going on a 20+ mile hiking trip. She had never worn liner socks before, but they were considered required gear by her scout troop. We purchased an inexpensive pair locally, and ordered two pairs of these Fox River liners through Amazon. Per my daughter, the Fox River silver liners were incredible. She hiked over 20 miles without getting blisters, and they were much more comfortable than the less expensive ones available locally. They also were a much better fit, very smooth and without an annoying seam.

Wonderful
Went hiking today and wore almost new hiking shoes and wore these under Merino wool socks . My feet felt like they would be sweaty but I had zero hot spots and got no blisters . I am so happy these really do work.

dry and odor free
My feet can be notoriously "smelly" but these socks kept them dry and odor-free. I used them inside a pair of heavy wool-poly blend socks, wearing waterproof hikers. The trails alternated between soggy and hot (going up and down hill a great deal). I wore them for about six hours and at the end of that time I expected to find that my feet were at least damp but surprise, surprise! these socks wicked away the moisture leaving my feet cool and dry. I wear women's size 9 and the fit around the foot was just perfect. It is a little shorter in height than I expected from the picture but still came about 3 inches above my ankle which was just fine with the other set of socks.(updated October 2013) Just got back from an eight day canoe / backpacking trip. By taking 2 pairs of these sock liners, I was able to use "fresh" sock liners each day (rinsing a pair at night and allowing it to dry out the following day). Because of the weather, I wound up wearing socks and boots about 16 hours every day. My feet still stayed nice and dry and odor free! One note - after about four days, I noticed that one of my ankles was getting just a little bit chafed. This could possibly be due to the way the sock liner fabric is folded inside then stitched. I never noticed that on shorter hikes. At any rate, I started wearing the sock liners inside out and the chafing had disappeared by the end of the trip.

Works better for thinner ankles
These are great liner socks in that they keep my feet very warm in the Boston winter. I do wish they were more stretchy, I have large ankles and socks crew socks tend to cut off my circulation around the top of the sock. Would not buy these again as I need something with more stretch. For now they work but not recommended for thicker ankles.

Probably not what you're looking for
I was not happy with this product. I thought I was getting something really nice and quality, but it turned out to be like a gray pair of women's nylons, though a little thicker, and with different-colored toes and heels. Maybe this is what sock liners are supposed to be (I'm not really experienced with this kind of product) but if they are, I don't find much of a use for them.

My goto cycle sock
These socks are great for heat and low odor. I need the room in my cycle shoes and these take up minimum space. I find them to be very cool.
