kate spade new york: SHE: muses, visionaries and madcap heroines

This book was quite disappointing. My one star I’ve given for this book is that it’s well stylized. It’s Kate Spade, so obviously the visuals are well done.What disappointed me about this book was the lack of diversity, and way it portrayed the handful of important women in the book. Important women, to me, are trailblazers and artists and those who strive to make real change. Movers and shakers! This book represented mostly fashion moguls and socialites. No female astronauts, no Beyoncé (none!!), and the women of color the book presented was minimal and did not capture the scope of their work. For example, Eartha Kitt had a full page picture, and then a quarter paragraph discussing her film career. Nothing about her political activism, which was so defining in her lifetime.I expect more from female driven brands like Kate Spade. I want even my coffee table books to represent proud women of all backgrounds/identities, so I can be proud to own them and learn from them. “She” deserves better. Give me Malala, not Peggy Guggenheim.

This is more than you would expect from a book. Quality materials, well written bios about extraordinary female front runners. Elegant enough for any coffee table. I'm impressed with the design. Lovely

If you have no idea who are the Trendsetting women of the 60s - 80's you need to read this book. Kate Spade was a one of them. This collection of women is fabulous. I only wish she was still with us. This book is a MUST for women.

Anytime Kate Spade puts out a new coffee table book, it goes straight to my MUST HAVE list. The crisp, colorful graphics and thoughtful content are addictive. You will want every Kate Spade book that's out there (there are only 4)!

This coffee table book is so awesome I bought it four times (4 both me, and friends, as gifts).But this was waaaay forever years ago. Come on, Kate Spade Handlers, it’s waaay pass time for NEW photos...via a NEW updated book.

The photos and content are amazing. The pages were stuck together at the top so the ink was damaged while I try to carefully open each page. The spine was torn on the last portion of the book. Returning for replacement. Having bad luck with books lately.

This is the perfect coffee table book! It's adorable and the content of the book is great.

This book made a beautiful gift. It was really well made, the rose gold looked gorgeous, and the contents celebrate strong women. What’s not to love?!

Darling book, with a gorgeous rose gold edged pages. Delightful read, about the amazing women who weren't afraid to throw out the rule book, and shape our world into what it is today. Was a bit disappointed that some of my favourite greats like Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Rosa Parks and Lady Diana to name a few weren't included...I suppose there will have to be a second book
