I got this battery case a few days ago. So far, I've shot many photos and several videos including one wedding using my iPhone X and another iPhone X without a battery case. While the iPhone X has a very respectable battery life...the iphone X without the battery case was close to being totally depleted by the end of the shoot. On my iPhone, I simply engaged the Alpatronix BXX about 1/2 way through the shoot. This battery case provides 4200 MAH charging capacity and does so at 1.5 volts. So....in using the iPhone and charging it (simultaneously) the charging was quite slow, but still a bit ahead of the internal battery drain. During still photos the charge was well ahead of the the drain. That being said: this battery case by Alpatronix will have NO problem staying ahead of the internal battery drain during normal everyday use. After running it through it's paces, I would definitely recommend this battery case for everyday use.It is a very useful design. In this design the iPhone slides in from the top with a very secure fit, and the "cap" simply locks on to the body of the battery case to protect the iPhone. I noticed that Alpatronix made a very useful enhancement to the cap....it now has a grip that shows you exactly where to pull on the cap to remove it. The cap fits snug to the rest of the case and unless you look for it, you can't see where the cap and case body join making for a very nice, uniform look. It is a very "clean" look to the case and definitely improves on the "grip" factor for the iPhone X. There is no drop in volume, and speaking on the phone is clear to the other party. One distinct advantage this case has over the BX10 is that this battery case allows for wireless charging!!! There is NO NEED to remove the case at night or anytime you want to simply lay the iPhone in it's wireless charger. In further comparison to the BX10, this case (BXX) does NOT have as large a bumper on the front of the case. It does have a small ridge, but if you were unfortunate enough to drop your iPhone X face down on gravel or rocky terrain...you might find yourself with a cracked screen. Alpatronix has thought of this already and ships the case with a screen protector to help keep this sort of misfortune from happening. Alpatronix also provides for an extended warranty. You would also take comfort in knowing that both Alpatronix battery cases are approved by Apple. Something you don't necessarily see on other cases. Included in the packaging is a charging cable for the case. It is micro-USB to USB. You can sync via this cable, so again...there is no need to remove the case. This case weighs about 3.8 oz, so it is surprisingly light for carrying such a punch. In fact, I have used it with a Smooth Q gimbal and it works fine. My only wish is that Alpatronix would include a belt clip with this case. That would be an incredibly handy accessory. However, this case is slim and protective, so those of you that stick your phone in your pocket should be fine with it. The BXX does not add much bulk to the phone, and only a little length to allow for the charging receptacle. If you like to carry your iPhone X "nude".....the case will definitely be noticed...(why you would carry your iPhone X nude...is beyond me...and hazardous to your pocket book..it's ALL GLASS!) So, for those of us that use a case, this IS THE ONE to get.....If you like a belt clip, you may have to get something that uses 3M tape and provides a clip. Are YOU LISTENING ALPATRONIX??? I carry mine in a pouch...but a belt clip would be so much nicer!!! The other improvement I would recommend is that the battery case (BXX) would automatically engage at a predetermined depletion level of the internal battery. That would eliminate your being surprised by a low battery alarm on your iPhone and having to manually engage your BXX.I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a battery case with wireless charging and APPLE certification!!! Design and AestheticsThe BXX QI Wireless Battery Charging Case is very well built and, for a smooth case surface, has excellent grip. The case fits the iPhone X perfectly with an elegant easy to use design. I would compare the fit and finish to a genuine Apple product, they’ve done that good of a job thinking this case through. With the ballistic screen protector installed, the edge of case is raised just above the surface for added protection, and it allows plenty of edge room so as not to interfere with the screen protector itself. The phone is easily inserted into, and removed from, the case by removing the top clip. There is no need to stretch a tight fitting case over your iPhone, putting unnecessary stress on buttons, the screen, etc. I really like that! The case also redirects the sound nicely through the molded case holes and the microphone seemed to work just fine, without obstruction. The case opening on the left side for the silence/mute switch is also designed well to allow your finger easy access without having to dig or require long fingernails to use.PowerThe battery is 4200mAh and does an excellent job of keeping your iPhone going for several days. I used my wireless charger overnight to charge the iPhone X, while still in the case, and then used it for the next 3 full days without letting it see another charger. I am an IT guy by trade, so my phone got a lot of use throughout the day and night; email, web browsing, game playing, photo/video creation, and even an IOS update. I am also a scoutmaster, so having the extra juice with me lightens my load when doing weekend camping, since I no longer need to carry a separate battery charger and cord with me. I really like the fact that the case and iPhone both charge together on the QI wireless charger, with circuitry built into the case that allows the iPhone to charge first. I think this inconspicuous feature says a lot about the company and engineers who designed the case. The battery case does not charge the phone unless you press the button on the back to initiate a charge. I really like this too, because it allows the iPhone battery to do its job and get a good regular cycle, which helps ensure longevity for your iPhone’s battery. I got two 2 full additional charges out of a single case charge, letting my iPhone drain to about ~30% of remaining charge before topping it off again.Things to ConsiderThe only thing I noticed that might be something to consider is that you don’t have access to your iPhone’s Lightning port, while it is in the case. This means you’ll need wireless ear buds if you want to listen to music or an audiobook. The manufacturer makes this clear on their website (it is by design) so not a ding, just something to be aware of. I haven’t used the case for an extended period yet, so time will have to tell how long the case battery and the case itself holds up. I have high expectations and will try to remember to post an update after 6 months or more.I am impressed with this product and would absolutely recommend this to a friend.
