Item as described.. great built and design for longevity and sophistication with great functionality. Easy to handle built to last. Just bought a Teak cutting board to go along with this.

The knife is really great. Sharp, beautiful curved edge, weight balance is pretty much 50/50 handle to blade. Full tang, solid quality, well built, beautiful and ready for almost anything you need it for. I recommend it. Looks beautiful too. Just be cautious when cleaning, it can tear up a sponge right quick.

This is a beautifully packaged and presented knife. It arrives in a gift box. The knife arrives sheathed with a small plastic protector on the tip that should be discarded before use. As the knife is made of carbon steel it arrives with a light coating of oil which must be removed before using the knife to cut food. It arrives sharpened but not to a fine edge; I was able to slice a green bell pepper with an average amount of effort with the knife as packaged. I later sharpened the knife with a good manual diamond hone with preset angles and that resulted in a fine, sharp edge comparable to my German steel Calphalon knives. The Tivoli Feather knife's style details are both beautiful and impractical. The dark feather design on the blade catches on cloth and makes it difficult to dry the knife after washing it. The notches, reminiscent of separation of barbs on an actual feather, add to this impracticality. However, the execution is beautiful in every detail including the full tang, quality wood scales, leather scabbard with blade padding, brass rivets and even a hanging hole. The Tivoli knife would make a beautiful gift for a Wiccan to use as a Bolline. [edit to add after a few weeks] I keep my feather knife in the kitchen and go to it when one of my everyday knives seems too dull for the task at hand. The shape is a little impractical but the results never disappoint me.

I got this knife in May and I'm still loving it. With Christmas around the corner, I'm gonna get another Tivoli knife to complete my kitchen.
