F. Scott Fitzgerald: The Great Gatsby

I bought this book to replace the one I lost from the library. The librarian said it is in good condition, and I finally got my fined money back. This shop saved me more than a hundred bucks.

I bought this book online because I needed it for a class, and it was cheaper that the schoolbookstore, but when i recieved it, i was a little irritated because the type on all of the pages is crooked, like it was not set properly, and the binding was faulty. I have pages litterally falling out of the book at random. The book itself, as in the text, is fine, its a good refference for analysis of the great gatsby. Its just not a very well made book.

Did an ignorant horde of high-schoolers descend on the pages for the Columbia Critical Guides recently? All of these misguided reviews of the original books (CCG AS I lay Dying, CCG Great Gatsby), are penned by readers so jejune and misguided they can't even figure out they aren't on the novel's page; as here, where two of them recount summaries of 'things that happen' in the novels with dead minds. The reviewers below wouldn't know analysis, if they knew what it was. The Columbia Critical Guides are excellent. They take as their base proposition that: Criticism changes. Analysis finds new evidence over time for what a book means. Meaning grows. The CCG's take any novel's analysis through its original reception (often surprising), through revised readings during the heights of feminism... strucutralism... etc. A wealth of thought in a slender, nicely designed, nicely laid-out volumes.
