Heavy duty plastic! Great quality
I can't believe I didn't buy this before. It fit half of the car. I took my son to college and this was the best solution to fit everything in one trip. It is not very complicated to attach to the car but it has to be done correctly. Fine on highway, nothing moved and he had plastic dresser, boxes of snacka, pillow.... I really loved the quality and I know it will last for a very long time.

Secured. Spacious. Easy install.
I’ve had 2 other bags from different brands and this one is really well done. We didn’t have roof racks so we put all 6 hooks on and it felt very secure. I had 6 luggage cases varying in size plus 2 bags and two beach chairs, I moved them around and got my desired fit and the bag was closed completely. I could have gone for the bigger size but the medium bag worked wonders. I only hit a small area of rain but it stayed dry from that so I can’t really say how waterproof it is but so far so good. The bag only shifted a minor amount after traveling 964 miles one way and then back. I didn’t use the lock yet but I attempted to fold it back up into its own traveling back, which could be a bit bigger but that’s a minor thing. Another minor thing I would mention is bugs. You will have to carefully clean the bugs off the front. If I could suggest any accessories I would say it would be nice if this bag came with a little tarp piece that covered the bag just to add some extra security from rain/snow. And maybe some shield for the front to keep bugs off. Again those are just ideas if the company ever wanted to add to these bags and that’s not a gripe at all. It’s very easy to install follow the directions but there are also many quick videos on YouTube about it. It’s quick to set up and make sure your zipper is towards the back. Also the no slick pad that came with it is really helpful . My first trip with this bag was very helpful and cleared up a lot of space for my family of 6 so im glad I bought it and will use it again. Also I got the sale on it so that made things even better for the price.

Review after putting 2600 miles on this bag
I am actually decently surprised by this bag. I just returned after a 2600 mile road trip with my family from Seattle to Southern California and back. Overall I am satisfied with this product. I got the 15 cubic feet model and strapped it to our 2012 Prius V and it was more than enough space for all our camping gear, pillows, blankets, and eventually dirty clothes bags. Durability: Only issue here was when we left to head back home, I noticed a few holes in the underside of the bag. I didn't store anything sharp in it so I am at a loss how they got there. Could have been giant desert spiders or my sister's dog. Either way, it made me think this bag is probably a one time use type thing. Weather resistance: I can't really speak to the water/weather resistance as we encountered virtually no rain during this trip except for a brief morning shower at my sister's house in the desert. Everything was dry inside after the rain. Straps: I read other reviews that said the straps needed to be tightened every hour or so at the beginning, but this was not my experience. I never felt the need to pull over and check the straps, other than at pit stops. The straps held up even though I averaged 70 mph, with a maximum speed of 80 mph for a few brief stretches. The only notable issue with the straps was after driving through a heavy side wind for about 60 miles, the straps on the side that got hit the most seemed a bit looser. Other than that, no issues with the straps. I really dislike how the hooks go under the weather stripping, which causes an annoying sound as you drive. MPG: I noticed this bag produced significant drag, reducing my average MPG from the expected 40 to 34 by the end of the trip. I've done big trips in this Prius before and the MPG has at most reduced to 38 when there's a lot of mountain passes/inclines. So it definitely had a major negative effect on the MPG. Security: The little lock that came with the bag (which would stop no one determined to get your stuff) broke instantly when I tried to set a new code, so that was out of the picture. All a thief would need to do is drive up with a pickup truck, quickly cut the straps and shove the bag in his/her truck to get your stuff. It is not very secure. One of the motels we stayed at seemed to be in a not great area so I opted to take the bag off the car and keep it in the room with us. I felt safer with it at other, nicer hotels which had lighting and cameras in the lots. Overall quality: I am impressed with this bag considering it was $60. It did the trick. However the major thing this product did for me was make me decide to the bite the bullet and get a roof rack and a large hard shell cargo carrier so the air can at least travel underneath it, reducing drag. Hard shells also seem to be way more secure.

Durable and very sturdy! Holds lots of items! Totally waterproof!
I am more than happy to do a honest review of this cool "Roof Bag"😃😃. We recently went on a family road trip and with the parents and the kids and all the luggage…there were definitely a few bags that wouldn’t fit in our SUV!! We were looking into getting a hard top roof compartment but they all seemed DO expensive!!! When I came across this bag on Amazon, I was pretty suprised by the price...much less expensive than the other roof compartments!!! We decided to try this one mainly bc of the price! I needed something that could make a 20-hour round trip journey from Utah to California! So I decided to risk it and bought this bag! Delivery was so fast....it arrived the next day with Amazon's 1 day shipping!!! I installed it on my SUV and it was EXTREMELY easy to install. A couple days later, we headed out on our trip! During the road trip, we had several hours of heavy thunderstorms and wind! A couple days later, we headed out on our trip! During the road trip, we had several hours of heavy thunderstorms and wind! I drove easily at a constant pace of about 80-85mph. We stopped once after the storms...I was pretty SHOCKD no water got inside the roof bag at all!! It was completely dry. It does not shake at all while driving and does not make any noise at all. Definitely an Amazing product and if your having second thoughts, I can assure you, it is such a great item. I was able to store about 5 luggage bags which exceeded the recommend weight limit btw and still held up like a champ. Overall I rate this product a perfect 5/5 Rating due to its accessibility, storage capacity, compactness and over-all quality. You definitely won’t be disappointed!!!

This product changed our lives on road trips - Toyota Yaris owners
Quite literally. We wish we had found this years ago, and we feel very dumb for not having thought to search for something like this before. This product has brought us so much comfort and relief on road trips. We have a Toyota Yaris, 2 people and a 90 pound dog who takes up the whole backseat. Doesn’t leave much room for luggage (you wouldn’t believe how efficient I became at packing the car). We were constantly crammed, no matter what, and it made road trips so unpleasant. We were worried about attaching this bag with no roof rack, but it is completely fine and works great. You do not need a roof rack to succeed with this bag. We do not recommend the anti slip mat, it seemed to make the bag slide more. We do recommend wiping the top of your car before installation, to remove dust etc. This helps with grip. This bag holds SO much, even on top of our tiny car. We put most of our luggage in there (except climate controlled or delicate stuff like coolers, backpacks with laptops, etc.) but we could put way more if we wanted to. This bag seems to fit 4 duffles (not the jumbo kind), plus a bunch of other stuff that you can cram between the duffles. We can now move our chairs all the way back, recline them, no more luggage in the way! A miracle for our backs and hips upon arrival! The bag is very sturdy, reliably water proof if sealed correctly (we have driven through numerous thunderstorms), and easy to attach. It takes a bit of effort to place the hooks under the weather stripping, and adjust the bag, but literally who cares this thing is a lifesaver. Make sure to ensure the weather stripping is sealed back properly so you don’t get dripped on in the car when it rains. We recommend placing two hooks in the front on each side, to hold the bag as it’s blown backward while driving, and one or two on each side in the back. No problems this way, it stays on, doesn’t sway at all. We found that as we drove the first few minutes on the highway, the weight adjusts to fall naturally, and the bag strapping may need to be readjusted to put more tension on one side. Not a big deal. Tie the straps up and tuck them if you can so they aren’t flapping and making a racket, or potentially loosening the bag. Use a lock to seal the zipper, not so much for security purposes, but to ensure the zipper stays shut. I think it would anyway, but it gives me peace of mind to know it won’t fly open on the highway. Tuck the lock under the Velcro zipper cover to hold it in place and not put unnecessary stress on the zipper (we have a heavy lock and do not want to misshape the zipper). Oh, and not to mention, a great price. Most roof rack mechanisms cost hundreds of dollars. It hurts our fuel economy slightly, we fill up slightly more (on a 13 hour drive we may fill one more time than usual, but use only a quarter of that tank). 10/5 stars. Bravo, and hallelujah. I cannot stop raving about this product.

Bought this because of a youtube video
For context, I bought the 15 cubic inch bag. So I will be taking a trip to Mexico in about a month and a half and needed to free up some room in my car. For context I have a 2018 Camaro. My wife and I will be going with our daughter and she overpacks like crazy. We both have 32inx20inx13in suitcases for ourselves, though I may take a smaller one this time around. Anyway, I've been looking around for something like this bag due to my car being small inside, the trunk fits at least one huge suitcase, and my car does not include luggage racks. I have looked online and have found really expensive luggage racks as well that are small. I have looked far and wide to find videos of luggage bags such as this being installed and I found one that showed my exact same model car and same-ish year. After reading through the comments of his video, looking for the exact bag, and reading through the reviews here I was convinced enough to buy this one. I got it within 2 days and it is big enough to fit multiple 32in suitcases no problem, looks to be about 3 but i only have 2. It is roomy and it is sturdy as all hell. I will update once I take the trip with information on how it held up. Overall I am liking this bag and couldn't be more excited to have space in the car for more than just suitcases and being cramped. Update: I uploaded a picture just to show how it was set up and what it looked like. So we took the trip and this bag held up better than expected. It withstood rain heavy rain and hail and it stayed latched on even when going over 90MPH for a good 13 hours or roughly 700 miles. I have a few gripes though. The bag says it's waterproof but idk what what happened when going down there, my bag ended up getting soaked. On the way back it was not so it may just be user error. And it's having to tighten it enough down but the more you tighten, the more it tugs and messes with the weather strip, that it causes all the noise from outside to come into your vehicle if you aren't using the luggage rack. Which I would assume would be most cases since that's why I bought it. Oh and a lot of wind drag which caused my car to want to push harder and use more gas but that may just be an issue for me and not more common. Other than that, it is a solid bag. It has lots of room and is able to withstand heavy rain and hail, 90+MPH speeds for a long period of time. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Especially at this price point.

From Los Angeles To Kentucky Through Sun and Deluge - Flawless Performance
I was hesitant to buy this product because of some of the bad ratings. As I researched products I became aware that ALL of them have some bad ratings because some of our fellow humans just can't be pleased. I put this on my car roof in West Hollywood and loaded it down with lots of items from clothing to shoes, to lamps and electronics. I found it was easy to tie down and I felt reasonably confident that I had done a good job fastening ALL of the attached straps to my roof rack. The drive across the country began and I was nervous as I headed through the desert to Las Vegas. I typically have a heavy foot, but tried to restrain myself with the knowledge of my rooftop equipment. Even so, I found myself hitting the 90s a few times with heavy winds. I have a sunroof, so I could look up and back at the bag occasionally, each time it appeared sturdy and not moving at all.... yet still, I was nervous from some of the bad ratings I read. I picked up a friend at McCarren airport in Vegas and we headed north through Arizona and Utah, stopping at National Parks on the way. A few times the extra length of the straps escaped the tucking I had used to hid them away under the bag, but otherwise no movement and no ripping or tearing. On our way to Denver through the rockies we hit the first rain, a mild rain, but nonetheless. I began thinking about those reviews again, wondering what was happening upstairs, but there was nothing I could do, so I just kept driving. We spent the night in Denver and I didn't dare open the bag because again, there was nothing I could do. I would wait until Kentucky to see what happened. As we entered the Great Plains we ran into the most ridiculous weather I have ever driven through, and it went on for 4 hours, the storm was following us. Heavy heavy winds and rain, in fact we saw two tractor trailers turned over in the median and one RV as well. I am telling you, I felt like I was driving through a hurricane and I was certain this bag simply wouldn't stay dry. (There were signs for 200 miles that had severe weather ahead) A few days later I arrived in Lexington, Ky and started unloading. The bag had no tears, was as tight as when I left LA, AND to my shock, surprise, and joy, was COMPLETELY dry inside. I hope this will build some confidence for those out there who read the bad reviews like I do and had a difficult time making choices. In my case, the bag was amazing, and I have stored it for another use in the future. Happy travels!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - ONE TIME USE PRODUCT - POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
This Rooftop Cargo Carrier is AMAZING!! I drove from California to Ohio and not once did the straps need to be tightened. Driving thru some intense rain had me concerned on if my items would be safe from the water - everything was DRY! I bought the largest size and had a 28" and a 25" suitcase, two 28.7"L x 14.2"W x 14"H moving bags and still had room for 3 queen size comforters and there was STILL ROOM FOR MORE!! Anyone moving or road-tripping needs this! The best part is it folds up and fits into this carrying bag for future use - no need to find room for one of those hard-sided turtle shell things. ****UPDATE**** Proceeded to use the carrier for the second time. Same route from California to Ohio - only difference was that due to the extreme heat all driving was done at night with cooler temperatures. During the daylight hours the car was parked under a covered carport. This trip it held 4 of the collapsable moving bags which all fit from front to back with approx 2" extra space all the way around. While stopping in Oklahoma City, it was discovered that one of the side seams had split leaving a 14" opening. Fortunately the 4 bags were able to be put into the van and nothing was lost. I realize it's been just over 1 year from the initial purchase, however I would think that for what I paid ($98.99 + tax) that I would get more than just 1 use from it. I tried to contact the seller - which directed me to Amazon. When I explained what happened I was transferred to 4 different departments, in the end to be told that there was nothing they could do, that I should contact the seller. I explained that I had tried to however the link directed me to Amazon. The Amazon employee kept telling me they couldn't do anything that I had to contact the seller thru the link he provided. After asking them if they had even tried using the link the employee became rude and condescending. I was able to locate an address for the seller however - guess what - IT'S IN CHINESE! I wasn't asking for any money back, I just wanted a replacement. FINAL UPDATE - I've attached photos of the split seam - IT IS A QUALITY DEFECT !! All I was asking for was a replacement - and I'm told SORRY YOU'RE PAST THE WARRANTY TIME. IF YOU HAVE THIS ---- USE WITH CAUTION ---- YOU COULD POTENTIALLY BE AT FAULT FOR CAUSING AN ACCIDENT IF YOUR BELONGINGS FLY OUT OF THIS WHEN THE SEAM BREAKS!!

Great size and waterproof
Just got back from a trip, 10 hours each way and it held up great. A bit of rain but no water inside. Tons of room and it handled odd shapes well. Bought shelf liner to help it stay in place and bought 2 door clips for the middle straps as we only had 4 loops to attach to on our roof. Gave us the room we needed for camping and a better spot to put the propane tank than inside the car.
