Just received and not installed yet. The button doesnt click & hold in place. Does this correct itself when installed before i pay for a plumber?

Ours was the same. Once the water is running it will hold in place. Think it has to have water pressure to work the switch

Are the fitting compression fitting?

No they are threaded with an internal o ring seal. They require a hexagonal socket or spanner to fit to your hot and cold feeds.

Does this tap work on low and high pressure

It's a tap just adjust accordingly
