Original review:This works fine for me. This uses a copper motor that is lightweight and runs a decent amount of time. This appears to be their bargain basement model. For a few dollars more you can get a brushless motor that is more efficient and powerful. I did not know this until after I got this saw. I like the blade protector because it keeps sawdust from flying everywhere. I do have to clean around the gear where sawdust collects when sawing. In the picture, you can see that the plastic guard is up because there is sawdust underneath. I tried it out at its capacity and it cut this large branch in about 20 seconds. It cuts through a four inch branch in about ten seconds and was surprised it had adequate torque to cut even hard wood branches. Being in my 70’s, I find this handy for light trimming such as doing my fruit tree pruning with one hand. This is quiet and is now my main light trimmer tool, much easier to use than loppers! I cut a piece of cardboard and taped it together to form a cover for the chain bar since this does not come with one. Making the cardboard cover was necessary because this saw does not fit in the case all assembled. Tightening the chain requires a philips screwdriver provided and you have to loosen the locknut. Some competitors have a plastic locknut with wings that are much easier to manage. There is no automatic oiler so you have to oil manually. I oil my blade using a little light machine oil about every 15 minutes. After using this saw about two hours, my blade is still sharp. The outside plastic frame is thick and durable. As a side note, Makita type three pin batteries will power this saw. Many other Chinese products use this same battery type. This is a huge positive for this saw. Surprisingly, I can get around 30 to 40 minutes run time on this lightweight battery depending on how much I use it. The 6 inch chain is readily available and is pretty generic to any 6 inch mini chainsaw.Update 3/9/23Our area suffered an intense ice storm that damaged many tree branches. The product description states that this saw has a protection circuit to keep it from getting damaged if it overheats. Unfortunately that sensor did not work, and my saw started smoking badly, so much so that I thought it might catch fire. A strong smell of electical burning was smelled. I had to stop using the saw. I sent a query for warranty replacement through the Amazon website, but Modest was slow to respond. They sent a used saw with a good battery, bar, and new chain to replace my old one. The replacement works fine. The Modest website states there is a one year warranty. The lesson I have learned is that if I want to have a more robust mini saw, I need to go with their upgraded brushless model. I will now have to be more careful to limit my time in how much cutting of larger branches I do at a time so it can stay cooler and not overheat.

My hunting partner showed up with a similar saw from Amazon ,for our pre season cleanup ,and it worked like a charm,blowdowns,clear shooting lanes, etc handled quick& easy. ,when I took a turn ,it proved to be just as lite & powerful as he made it look. SO I went & got 1 of my own . It came in a nice hard plastic case , which proved 2 be useless once the saw was assembled . Instructions are blurry but doable *** there is a warning to lube as per instructions which dont exist .Charger & batteries quick & at 24V is longer lasting than similar offerings . Conclusions, a handy tool, just wipe that chain with BAR oil as needed.

The media could not be loaded.  I’m an avid vegetable gardener, and I didn’t know I NEEDED THIS! It’s super compact and incredibly easy to assemble for first use. It’s perfect for extensive vegetable gardens and year end clean up. I also managed to trim my hedges and bushes in the front. It’s very heavy duty in the sense that it’s well made but it’s wildly light! You can use this with lots of versatility around the yard and it makes everything that much easier. Super happy with this and excited to add my very first power tool to my many sets of manual gadgets!

This product is simple and easy to use. It's not a big, bulky chain saw so it's easily accessible. It can cut pretty decently. For the price, you can't go wrong. Getting another one for my dad for Christmas.

- came back to update - I’ve used this 6 inch little girl about 10 times since receiving her- loved her initially! However I got her out the other day and used her once and noticed she didn’t feel quite right. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the base where the bottom of the saw comes together with the battery holder was coming apart. I could look between the two pieces and see the wires coming down in between the two parts, I put some heavy duty adhesive there in hopes that it will at least slow down the break but to be honest, I’m afraid to use her now I was quite disappointed when this happened. Now all admit I’m not the kindest or most gentle with her. But no more than what she’s been used I truly did not expect this. I have been much much harder on my 4 inch saw and have had it for two years now and she’s still a kickin’. This one was amazing but unfortunately it seems that the body design is not very structurally sturdy.Initial review -Already had the 4 inch pink saw but needed something with a little more power- this did the trick- works as expected and I find my husband quite often steals this when he has some quick cutting to do

Put 1 of 2 chains on, blade tightening loosens somewhat and chain, didn't cut????

So easy to use once you get the hang if it. Just used for 2 hours and didn't change battery.

Nice little site chainsaw for small jobs.
