interesting beginning, then becoming less so
I'm a retired academic, but even I couldn't get through this -- the morass of detail, the bite-sized chapters, the author's real pleasure in reciting his memories at length even when they seem quite normal and unremarkable. I wished strongly and repeatedly that it had been cut by at least 200 of its 700 pages.
