They were easy to install into the dirt with some leg strength (this will depend on your soil conditions) and a rubber mallot. They have a nice black finish, great height for climbers. I'm training a thornless Zephirine Drouhin on one now and a clematis of some sort come spring. Now I just need the manufacturer to make a 36" x 48" horizontal trellis in the same style to complete the look! I also have the smaller version of these for container planters for a mandevilla & a star jasmine both of which have been going to town with growth on these trellises! Great find and price on either set! We liked the contemporary design and decided to purchase these. The price was certainly reasonable for two. They arrived a day ahead of schedule and NO assembly is required. These are of average sturdiness. I found one small issue. At this heigth, they are somewhat unstable if left freestanding, given the length of the "feet". However, ours are about a foot from a retaining wall and I built two braces, anchoring them to the wall as well.
