It does what it's supposed to do with quite reasonable clarity. I've had it for a while and the effect hasn't faded.

Bought for use at work for analyzing magnetic fields and devices. Has super clear picture versus other products.

I find this magnetic field viewing film to be the right size to check most common magnetic object. It does a decent job in revealing the magnetic field around without any after effects, the film instantly resets when the field is no longer present. I don't see any practical benefit from using other than checking for unsuspected magnets or simply exploring the field of each magnet. I don't find it useful to tell a strong field from a weak one, I'm sure it does, but it'll take a trained eye to be able to tell.

I have a small collection of magnet spheres and this viewing film shows their fields off spectacularly. The rainbow effect seen from certain angles at the peaks of their magnetic domains is truly beautiful. Only “complaint” is that I wish I could view the fields from just a bit further away, but perhaps this is a limitation of any field viewer. Regardless, I’ll be shopping around for more, but I am very satisfied with this purchase! 5 stars for such a lovely product!

Running it over the phone, laptop and fridge magnets looks just like the photos. Much better than the plain green version I bought years ago (which is still very cool, just not as colorful).

Within minutes of my opening this product, our 9-year-old ran around the whole house gathering up as many different magnets as he could. It was a lot of fun seeing this film react to the different magnets and show us their variety of field layouts. It doesn't seem to have much of a practical purpose for us, but it's a lot of fun to play with. It reacts very quickly and it doesn't "burn in", so it seems to be infinitely reusable. I used the fact that we homeschool our youngest as an excuse for getting this product, but honestly, I just wanted to play with it myself. :-P You can use this to find the magnets hidden in various products... I easily found out where the magnets are on my laptop lid and palm rest. It's also interesting to see how quickly the fields fade with any little distance from the film. For instance, I could barely even see the field for the ear speaker on my iPhone 8. Overall, it's very fun. Whether that fun is worth the price of this product is entirely up to you, but I do give this 5 stars.

This is only 3.5" x 5.5" viewing area, about 20% less than the advertised 4" x 6", and not much larger than the cheaper but better 4" x 4" displays. It works ok, and it's better than the older style, but it's not as sensitive or clear as the popular brand product. The frame prevents getting magnetic impressions from items near edges and corners, and the paper frame doesn't appear easily removable, so using this is damp or greasy environments isn't good.

My kids have really been enjoying carrying this all over the house and finding the magnets hidden in everything. It works like magic! They found magnets and more things than I could’ve imagined.
