Decent quality, easy to assemble with the supplied directions, Quality of the wood is nice - Cedar, Great price. I used Titebond III wood glue even thought the pieces are dipped in wax. What the heck, it might help in the long run!

I bought this hive because it was the cheapest complete hive on amazon and am using it as a visual aid in my bee class's and wasn't expecting much, but boy was I surprised. the fit and finish was very good the wood was very clear on the boxes the bottom board is solid wood not plywood and the inner cover is plywood not press board. The frames are clear pine and went together very nicely and had the grooves and bevels where they should be. all in all this kit is better quality than ones I have paid twice as much for from the big bee company's. the only thing I did to keep the wood from splitting ( this will happen with any bodies box ) was use deck screws that cut their way in so they don't split the wood but you could pilot drill before you install the supplied screws to eliminate any splitting

Extremely high-quality materials and manufacturing. Easy to assemble yet very secure and solid as well. I am most POSITIVELY IMPRESSED! Can't believe I got this whole setup for the price of any old "nuc" in the classified ads I've seen over the years. I'll be attempting to move a good native hive residing in a wall in the attic and I needed something that has a high probability of adoption and acceptance with room to receive the full colony. This is absolutely PERFECT. I couldn't offer them a better new home than this. The colony is such a good one, and so much natural habitat has been lost around here, that I'd hate to have them abandon the site entirely. It will be a while before I can arrange the rest of the project and do the transfer, but this is a most auspicious beginning and my hopes have raised for it to be successful.

I like these hives for the money. Requires a little assembly work but pops together in 10 minutes. All wood is be wax coated so the bees like it and it’s durable. Metal roof cover. Fit and finish is good. My bees moved right in and like the hive. Comes with small top section and large bottom section. Comes with queen separator to limit her access to top honey section. I like these hive and will buy more especially if the price drops a little or they go on sale

Thoroughly waxed boxes. Foundations weren't as waxed as I would have liked, some kinda seemed to have it drizzled on. Frames splintered when nailed together but not to the point of being useless. Nails had a really gross grease on them but they sent plenty of them. Was economical enough for what I got. Would recommend and buy again if needed.

Took hive pieces out of packaging once delivered. Looked everything over and all seemed to be in order. I thought the hive body and frames were of cedar wood. Only the hive body is cedar, frames seem to be pine or another soft wood. Hive body is wax dipped which is Preemo! Frame foundations are also wax dipped. Very nice setup. Assembly is super easy. Pre-drilling nail holes using a supplied nail will prevent cracking and splitting so close to the end of the frame. I plan on transferring a colony over to this setup in a couple days.

Very good boxes & frames. They give you finishing nails with the kit, but I used my pneumatic stapler. Most of the pieces are coated with beeswax for water proofing. The frame parts are not coated but they'll be inside the box. One of the boxes I ordered the excluder is a bit (1/2" or 12mm) small. Other than that small issue they're greata

Nice looking hive, easy to assemble. I might pass on a tip: when nailing the frames together. If you tap the point of the nail to flatten the point a bit before driving the nail in, that will prevent the wood from splitting if you run into that problem!
