Works great for me without any problem or overheating. I was worried that might not be compatible, as some other chargers were reported to be, but it is compatible with the Surface 3. Have been using it for approximately 1 1/2 years, and has been plugged into the Surface 3 for months to keep fully charged. No problems with overcharging. Would purchase again.
