Order the Ortiz Ventresca for $14.99 -- There's Nothing Comparable Out There
I SO miss the Bonito in olive oil from Spain my family was able to buy at the local Pan American market when I was a kid growing up. It was just a couple of bucks a tin, and so good -- as good if not better than Ortiz Ventresca at $14.99 at Wegman's now. But the quality of lowest price brands is nothing in comparison -- dryer tuna, more fibrous texture. When I am hungry for tender, moist, tuna in olive oil, I just break down and pay for Ortiz Ventresca despite the expense. Once a month, as a treat, out of the can or on a wonderful salad or just some great lettuce. Sometimes you want what you want, and there just is no substitute outside of the Mediterranean.

this was nice, the ortiz ventresca bonito del norte tuna bellies ...
this was nice, the ortiz ventresca bonito del norte tuna bellies was a step above this brand for sure. Way better than a regular bought can of tuna at your local store, i can't really eat store bought tuna, just doesn't taste that great. But i could do this product, not bad but there are better brands out there. Yes i paid more for ortiz ventresca bonito.....but it was worth the price. This product was a tad salty, at least for me, i don't eat alot of salt so i picked up on that immediately. It would probably be fine to the average person who normally eats salt and would most likely be fine IF eaten withsomething else. I did just open the can and eat it straight out of the can, it's definitely a few cuts above store bought tuna.

I liked it!
Very nice taste and texture. Pricier type of tuna fish than your regular grocery store type in a can but worth the treat if you like tuna fish or if you want your salade nicoise or appetizers to have a nice presentation.

Excellent ventresca. Remember, it's VENTRESCA, so it's more delicate, and not chunky.

Slightly cheaper, but nowhere near as as good as, Ortiz Ventresca White Tuna Belly in Oil
Tried this as an alternative to my beloved Ortiz Ventresca White Tuna Belly in Oil which cost $11.00 a can. At a $7+ dollar price point, I was hoping for something similar but it is a poor substitute. This tastes marginally better than StarKist or Bumble Bee, but for the quality it's too expensive.

ventresca.
good. Much better than regular tuna. But mackerel and trout are better, more sustainable, less expensive, and lower mercury.
