A Cure for the Daltons (Lucky Luke)

a classic story by Lucky Luke
one of my favourites, think of the context when it was published; in 1975presentation is in between a magazine like cover and a hard paperback cover, i was used to the hard paperback covers from the originals french versions, only reason to not concede the 5 stars,

Original version in French was better
A Cure for the Daltons in French is a classic, subtly blending Wild West philosophies (shoot first and ask questions later) with Freudian psychoanalysis (tell me about your childhood). The original French version hits the nail on the head by psychoanalysing cowboys, drunks and outlaws, and presenting it in a sophisticated dialogue. For the English version, the editors made the mistake of adding "accents" which makes the speech sound crude and unoriginal. Pity.

Lucky Luke cartoons are priceless
Excellent, very very funny. I have been a Lucky Luke fan since childhood. When I was going after them, adults were taking these books fro the children and reading them, laughing out loud all the while.

Lucky Luke Saves the Day Again
You can't go wrong with Lucky Luke. Goscinny and Morris were great artists of the Ninth Art.

The Dalton's can't be cured
The Dalton's are some of my favorite characters in comic books, and they are really funny here. We get some fun pokes at psychology in this newly translated volume. The kids really love Lucky Luke and look forward to each new one brought out by the publisher.

Score One for The Daltons
Just how did this happen anyway? A respected psychologist tries to cure the Daltons, and they corrupt him? It sounds like something only the Daltons can do.Morris and Goseinny illustrate/write another entertaining Lucky Luke lark that delivers a home run. The Daltons are incurable, and Luke knows it, but Dr Otto Von Bratwurst thinks he can cure them! Given a chance, he can rehabilitate them, right?Ha!The process of rehab is a blast and easily worth the $12 price tag. If this was TV series (like Pinky and the Brain), it would be a prime time hit. I can imagine it now, Season 23, Lucky Luke...Classic.

Very funny Lucky Luke adventure
One of the funnier and more adult-oriented Lucky Luke adventures -- sends up Freudian-style psychoanalysis in a brilliant way. Goscinny is on top form here, and Morris is always consistent. To be recommended.
