Beautifully Written Dual Timeline
"Secrets of the Cottage by the Sea" is a captivating read that beautifully intertwines past and present. The characters are well-developed, and the island setting is vividly described, making it easy to get lost in the story. The secrets revealed kept me hooked from start to finish. Highly recommend for fans of emotional and engaging historical fiction.

4* Ideal deckchair reading.
Ellie Roberts has inherited her grandmother's tiny, rundown cottage on a small fishing island in the Isles of Scilly. There's a stipulation in the will that she must live in the property for one year or lose her inheritance. What makes this book stand out is the skilful writing with many colourful characters and, of course, the magnificent location. An absorbing dual time read between 1940's wartime and present day.

Beautiful.
Not the sort of book I normally read as a horror/fantasy lover, but I chose this book purely on the title as a sea worshipper who now lives as far inland as you can get.A wonderful read. The changing of the years threw me a little trying to keep in mind who everyone was. But this just made you get more absorbed into the story and the characters who were lovely. Such a sad beautiful love story, you really wanted more for Patience and Dutch. The story kept you going until the very end. So pleased I chose this book.

Really enjoyable feel good story.
Really liked this book. Has two timelines going on which adds to the suspense. Has been really well written (has a few errors though) but doesn't take away from the story. Cleverly written and well worth a read.

Perfect in every way
I loved everything about this story. It is so beautifully crafted and would make excellent film material. Attention to detail around these believable islands and the very real characters that Rebecca Alexander has created would get a 10 stars from me if that possible.

Littered with errors
Good story but the book is littered with errors, which makes me cross because her publishers - a well known one - will take such books on when better edited works aren’t given a chance .Eg: “I don’t have a problem with being black here” should be “I don’t have a problem with being back here.”Also : “I put in sheets in the bed.”Publishers - employ some decent editors !!

Another late night because of this page turner.I finally took it to bed with me at midnight and finished it after two. No telling the story line here. But you are privie to all the secrets as the story progresses.

Secrets of the Cottage by the Sea
This book was intriguing from the first chapter onward. It was filled with beautiful descriptions, historical relationships, a variety of current day relationship building, unanswered questions and the search go solve those questions. I normally don't enjoy books that bounce back and forth between different spans of time, but this one was so well marked at each change that it was easy to understand and keep up with. Very sweet and entertaining book. Will be reading more by this talented Author

Beautiful story line
A beautifully written dual timeline story seamlessly intertwined. I loved each & every character, all carried their hidden secrets & heartbreaks. Amazing descriptions of the gorgeous island. Absolutely fabulous, will certainly read the following books of The Island Cottage series

Enchanting story but a bit too long for me...
Brought back to bygone times on a small island with vivid characters. A great escape from reality.

Well-written, clean
This was one of the best books I've read in awhile. It was extremely well-written, with memorable characters, and great descriptions of the island and the people. The story had moments of laughter, excitement, and tears. At one point I couldn't stop reading and ended up finally going to sleep at 3:00 in the morning. This is how a book should be written.
