Excellent - simple and effective
Excellent book. Briefly outlines the details of keto, without pages of boring detailsExcellent recipes and as a vegetarian lots of recipes for me. Very simple and easy to follow - works too as already down 3 kilos in a week! Highly recommended

Already bought a second copy
This book has so many good/healthy recipes that are so easy to follow. I love the 3 step program to easy back in to eating carbs (in moderation). I found it so good that I actually ordered this for my friend too and she also loves it.

Diet works, but...
I want to lose 1 stone, so decided to kick start weight loss with this diet. I have followed it for 6 days and lost 3lbs (lapsed one day meeting a friend for cake and coffee!).Hunger pangs stopped on the third day. Here are my thoughts so far:Pros - it works, you will lose weight if you follow this diet (but stage 1 is not to be done for more than 12 weeks). There are some really tasty recipes. The diet has introduced me to new things e.g. white miso paste. There are helpful 7-day menu suggestions and lists of meals in different calorie quantities. Meals vary in servings mainly from 1 to 6. You can use tinned/frozen ingredients in many recipes to prevent waste.Cons: Eggs and green leaves dominate. If you don't like the 7-day menu plans, it takes an awful lot of time to plan your own. There is a lot of oven cooking. I cook main meals for two, but find some ingredients e.g. cheeses, avocado, chorizo are not used in entirety. Then I have to find suitable meals to use them up within 2 or 3 days and I'm finding this tricky. For instance, I bought ricotta for one recipe, but now realise that is the only recipe in the book using it! I'm trying to freeze things like left over fresh herbs or two servings when I've cooked a recipe for four. When using the oven, I'm trying to cook additional things e.g. roast seeds, muffins, other snacks to be more economical. Most diets require quite a lot of planning, but I've found this one to require more than most I've tried.

This Book Is An Excellent Companion To.....
One of the TWO excellent Companion Recipe books to the revised and updated book, The 5:2 Fast Diet written by Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer. It's packed with recipes to use on fast days and they all look really tasty. My favourite is the Baked Eggs in Pepper minus the chorizo, so easy to make and less than 300 cals per serving and its yummy. Servings are measured for single people, 2 people and so on upwards, you just need to keep track and use common sense. It can also be used for NON Fast days as I've discovered and you wont end up hungry. I'm on 600 cals per fast day (it'll be 800 cals on NON Fast Days when I switch to stage 2) and I divide that between two meals only and Im doin ok so far. At the moment I'm on the stage 1 diet were you treat every day as a fast day because I need to lose weight fast before I switch to stage 2, the 5:2 fast. For me personally, I find I often have all the ingredients I need anyway with a normal shop, there's not much you might have to buy specially. I'm eating new things like Feta and halloumi for the first time in my life and I love them. The book gives all the calories in the recipe which are given as well as the amount of servings so you don't eat too much. It covers meal plans at the back just before the Index. Although it's called the 800 Keto Recipe Book, I can confirm it also gives plenty of recipes for anyone following the 600 cal Fast days. Michael and his Doctor wife Clare Bailey have pulled out all the stops with this book and I am happy to recommend this book to anyone even if they're just looking for a good healthy meal or as a weight maintenance plan. This book is great for everyone, dieters or not.
